Having trouble signing in?

Unread post by Progressive-Psy »

Try this!

If you are using the CE, this might work for you.. There will be a link for the CE!

1st : Click multiplayer, sign in.
2nd : Go to Join internet game.
3rd : Go to history.
4th : Spam refresh until the server shows with a ping.
5th : Sign in.

Works for me every time, and several others!

I used to use the CE ages ago but hadn't installed it on a new PC - when I did it said it could not run (error 267). Am I doing something wrong? Any ideas please?

Try connecting without the CE, it worked for me, just to test.

Tsidkenu also connected successfully.

Yes just reverts to the original and you can't see the internet servers - have to direct connect.

I saw a spiel about using regedit - followed that but no idea how to actually use regedit to change the path lol

The hosts file, but I don't recommend doing so if you intend to use the CE.

I changed it using regedit and got it to launch - can see servers again but as soon as I try to connect it disconnects me so giving up on this route!

Well we can put this to rest, it doesn't work for me.

EDIT: Actually I had this happening before. The server is listed and up but I cannot login. For months it was happening. I hope it isn't telefonica again.

Actually it's worse, it seems to login but freezes after the login message disappears. Then back to login with the name. Ah, well, I hope all the troubles disappear soon.

*giggles* and the moment I wrote it, it logged in. But let's see how long I will be logged in this time.

Nevermind, now it froze after the character was chosen.

If I don't use Client Extension, and try like 4 or 5 times eventually I can get on. It takes a good bit of time though each time for the character to possibly load, but it does eventually work for me. Hope this helps ;/

Hm, that worked. I had to put nwnmain.exe into compatibility mode with WinXP 2nd. as Win10 doesnt seem to like it.

But yup, although the Extension is sometimes of great help. Let's hope we can use it soon again.

Hm, since I made these changes I cannot get Client Extension to start again. Not even applying it after NWN2 is started.

EDIT: the next day, it was back to normal with the Client Extension. Software, figures. Behaves as erratic as humans sometimes.
