Background: Ildar is the great grandson of a Luskan pirate named Kelben Ironfist. Kelben later took the name Drakebiter after settling down in Waterdeep. He got the name from his men who called him Drakebiter after he encountered a guard drake during a raid. As the story goes the beast lunged forward at him and Kelben’s first reaction was to go for its eyes with his mouth. He ended up pulling its eyes out with his teeth as he thrust his dagger into its side. With the people of Waterdeep not knowing Drakebiter’s true identity he was able to set up a successful shipping company in the docks district. A few generations later Ildar seemed to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather. In one instance, after a long night of drinking with his friends he heard about the Spires of the Morning temple and it treasures. After hearing this, Ildar thought he could break into the temple and take these treasures for himself. In doing so, as soon as he entered the temple he was struck blind. The next day a cleric found Ildar in the temple and healed him of his blindness. From that point on he became a novice of the temple. As he grew, he was inducted him into the Order of the Aster. Being in the Order was no simple task for Ildar but he did his best. However, not too long in fulfilling his duties he found himself in trouble. There was a group of nobles from Tethyr that were diplomatic guests in Waterdeep. Some members of the Order of the Aster, including Ildar, were present when these nobles were being welcomed by the city. One of the nobles was a known necromancer who had done vile things. Upon seeing this villain Ildar became enraged. He drew his sword and was ready to strike this noble down but was stopped by his knight commander. The commander told Ildar that he should uphold the laws and that his actions are wrong. At that point Ildar said something that would pretty much guide his understanding of law. He said, “Knight Commander, what is greater to follow the law of the lord of light or the law of the lords of Waterdeep? Is the law good because man says so or a god?”. He then told his commander that he was a coward if he did not bring that fiend of a necromancer to justice. At that point Ildar spent some time in jail. However, through the mediation of his cleric friends he was able to be restored to his position in the Order. Not to longer after, his superiors thought it best for him to get out of Waterdeep. So they sent him south to help with the struggles that Baldur’s Gate had been dealing with. Unfortunately, on his way down the Sword Coast his cohort was overrun by bandits and he was the only one to survive. He eventually found his way to Baldur’s Gate and is seeking now to establish himself there.
