Background:
Felian's childhood was marked by two things: magic and a distant, gloomy father. His father, who made a living as a jeweller, spent most of the day mourning over the loss of his wife, and kept a harsh, cold tutelage of his hyperactive son, who showed some unexplained magical prowess, but barely held control over this ability. His father never bothered to investigate the cause of this, perhaps knowing the answer already. As a kid, Felian was somewhat popular with other children, due to his knack for magical tricks which more often than not ended up in them running away from an angry adult.
When Felian was old enough to restrain himself and help his father on the jewel business, they agreed the academy of neverwinter would be a good career choice to both learn how to make something useful out of his innate abilities and finally get Felian out of the house. The academy life experience turned out badly, however, as Felian held little interest in their disciplined and careful study of magic, and lacked the wealthy, nobility background of the rest of his classmates.
It was at this age too when his dreams began. Night after night, felian would suddenly find himself taken to what he would later identify as Arborea, a different plane of existence filled with amazing and imposible landscapes, vibrant and exhuberant nature, and infinite expanses of ever changing wild lands. His fascination with this apparent gift killed what little interest in academic life remained on Felian, and he would focus all his time and efforts in studying and learning more about this fantastic place, taking whatever he could from the academy to further his "research" and abandoning classes altogether.
After months of what his peers thought was complete lunacy and utter madness, he was thrown out of the academy permanently. But instead of even bothering to visit his father, who was probably glad to had getting rid of felian in the first place, he set his way to the closest, greatest library in faerun to further his study of the eternal glades, Candlekeep.
~
After arriving to Candlekeep and meeting Wendel Ashby, Hoihe Dacino, Laitae Lafreth & Llilith Azrael, Felian began a mad quest for knowledge that involved months of seeking out books all over the sword coast to pay his entrance to the library and learn all that was already written about Arborea to complement his experiences.
Sadly, shortly after Felian managed to convince Wendel (back before he retired to cormyr), and seeking a final tome beneath the hilltop ruins, he was ambushed by drow slavers and taken to the underdark, where his bad health and lack of any remarkable skill made him a rather bad slave. During this bleak time Felian met a Gloura, which seemed interested in Felian's dual nature. This secret friendship helped Felian deal with the horrors below, right until the time when he was bought by a cult of shar, who planned to sacrifice a "creature of the light" to please the lady of loss.
Felian was saved by a group of adventurers, who were on a Divine quest to hunt down and stop Shar's secret cults from performing those sacrifices, which were meant to empower the goddess for some evil future plots. Stealing the spotlight, doing all the hard work, and getting all the rewards, these adventurers teleported back to the surface, dropped a naked Felian near cloakwood, gave a half explanation as to who they were, and soon enough teleported again, never to return. Stealing clothes while invisible, Felian wandered the woods, lost and confused, until Hoihe dacino found him again.
Having had enough adventure for a lifetime. Felian decided to find a job, and through a friend named Telia navra, he met Herran Hymn of the white mask theater, and quickly decided to join the performer's guild.
Goals
His original plan of writting books and registering all there is to know about Arborea is gone, deciding instead to use his gift as inspiration to create works of art. While still working on his "Journal of all things arborea" He doesn't plan on publishing, scribbling on it mostly for himself or friends if he wants to show anything to them.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
Felian is childlishly curious and mischievous. Anything remotely interesting steals away his concentration, specially if magic is involved. At the sight of Feys of any kind and size, Felian drops whatever he's doing and approaches them for friendly conversation. Not exactly courageous, Felian would run away or talk his way out rather than fight for his life in dire circunstances or when threatened.
