Do you want to hear a story of the great deeds, love, honor and kingdoms, where do the milk rivers flow, and their shores are covered by the flowers, that smell like a mead and can not be found anywhere else? I would like to tell you such a story, but, despite I really want that, here you will not find a knight in shining armor or a kind, good and ancient wizard with a white beard up to his knees. But here you will find a story of the once forgotten philosopher, dark mage or just a lonely elf from the Sword Coast.
-450 DR (Year of Dwarvens' Descent)A long time ago, in the far north, where once city of Illusk stood, was living a House of Amakiir, a humble clan of the elven sorcerers. In this house was born Samael Amakiir, who is known now as a Dark Lord Amakiir. He never knew his parents, and the education of the young magician was a duty of the whole House without exceptions. Amakiirs tried to teach him control his own power, which was shining in him like a beacon. At the young age he already unlocked his talent in necromancy, and achieved noticeable results, what was common for the House of Amakiir. To train a sorcerer, no matter what - that was an objective of the House, and Samael were not an exception.
-425 DR (Year of Ancestral Voices)
During that year, Samael had some difficulties. The Netherese returned to refond the city as a magocracy. The elf thought that it is better to leave the House. He left the House, but he kept the name of Amakiir as his own House name, and later he formed his own dynasty.
-354 DR (Year of Many Maws)
Samael was living in the city as a magician commoner, even working as an enchanter, slowly achieving small results in his carrer. The magical power of the elf was a good method to earn respet and profit in the city ruled by magocracy. In that year a Netherese arcanist Melathar came back to Illusk, running from the phaerimms. Melathlar sarificed himself to magically erect the Host Tower of the Arcane as well as huge stone walls and spellwards. Meanwhile, Samael succeded in becoming one of the elite mages of the city, and took his place in the tower, working along with other magicians. His power was growing, and he started accepting apprentices.
-111 DR (Year of Terrible Anger)
Orchish hordes descended from the Spine of the World and whiped out Illusk. When the local elven population united to fight the horde, Samael was with them. The resiliant netherese descendants then begin rebuilding their homes three years later, restoring Illusk to it's former state. At his age of 339, elven necromancer was powerful enough to alter his body and prolong his life via necromancy.
-10 DR (Year of Burning Glades)
In the Year of Burning Glades an elven army led by Lord Halueth Never attacked and defeated Illusk. Predicting the outcome, Samael decided to leave the city, instead of aiding the resistance. His predictions were true, nn his way elf was attacked by the members of the Halueths army. Samael left a road of their corpses behind him during his travels. After the war Samael decided to travel around the world, and not to draw any attention to his person. Every 200 years he changed his place of living, because common folk started being suspicious, the appearance of the elf was always the same, he was not becoming older.
1018 DR (Year of the Dracorage)
For a long time, Samael was hiding in the shadows, avoiding any trouble. He settled in Mintar, near the Lake of Steam. Well, he was not doing anything before the moment that changed the world. When the dragons stared attacking the cities, Samael was already powerful enough to alter his body completely, allowing him to be more like undead, having the same beneficial traits. When the blue dragon Iryklathagra attacked the city, Samael accepted the challenge, among with other protectors of the Mintar. The battle was going for a month, and almost completely destroyed the city. Samael used many of his spells, including necromancy, summoning an army of the undead to aid him in battle. After the war was over, Samael was known as a necromancer. Because of that, elf immidiately left the city.
1150 DR (Year of the Scourge)
Having no other choice, Samael started wandering around the Sea of Fallen Stars. He was living in one city, then another, as a commoner... During the war in the cities of Vilhon Reach, the elf decided to be an observer, as the elf found it rather amusing.
1167 DR (Year of the Parchment Heretical)
Samael was among the ones, who pushed the Gray Druid of the Ash Circle to raise the army of the treants in attemt to destroy the civilization of Amn. During these times, elf wanted to start a war atleast somewhere, but the plan of the Gray Druid was discovered before it was too late. Elf decided to leave and hide somewhere in Daelands.
1289 DR (Year of the Sighing Serpent)
For a long time Samael stayed in the Daelends, but he decided return to the Sword Coast. He traveled to the Neverwinter, where he was living until the beginning of the new century, and later he moved to Waterdeep, where he was living until 1344 DR. At this time elf moved to the Baldurs Gate. In the 1350 DR elf gathered some of the most fameous assassins, necromancers and blood mages near the Gate, and created his own clan, Coven of Darkness. Samael became the 'undying' leader of the necromancers, on their way to find a new home. In the 1352 DR he has found drow corpse and used it as a new body.
