OOC:

OK the stage is largely set for this weekends events. I will post a synopsis of what everyone is doing so that everyone knows where to be while not revealing any secret plots from within guilds.

In the interest of portraying a degree of realism, within this weekends course of events I ask that players place the utmost good faith into RPing the DISTANCES we are talking about here. Hence, I would rather have RP centered around areas than have characters hop around the map top to bottom within 20 minutes RL (the exception to this of course is teleport... per spell description... no teleporting armies around the sword coast.). A few things this weekend

RULES/ETTIQUETTE

1. Always walk. no running!. this doesn't give DM's time to do anything and I want walking to reflect the distances if there are any repositionings across the server. If you cheat in this area and are spotted... we the DM's will cheat too... and our 'cheat' button is bigger and nastier than anything the epics have ... :? THE ONLY EXCEPTION TO THIS ARE SOLO RUNNERS (SEE BELOW #3)

2 Clear large scale movements with DM's. If the enemy is 20 yards from the gates, you will likely not be able to move reinforcements from FAI to intercept them...

3 COMMUNICATION. Factions are miles apart. I ask that players refrain from trying to communicate intelligence via tells... SENDINGS (or equivalent), Teleports, or RUNNERS will be the only 'legal' means of communicating what is happening in the server. A runner will be a SOLO - YES SOLO AND ONLY SOLO - player, who is permitted to run from one area to another to communicate information. They are the only ones permitted to run during the weekends events.

If we follow this framework, I think we will have a very enjoyable weekend.

STARTING POINTS.
OSR: the Triage station at boresky bridge or Triel (I would recommend dividing forces 50/50 at these tow locations. OSR members may also elect to start at their guild house.

RH. RH can start at Triel (as many have stayed to fortify since the threat was announced) or their guild house if they wish.

EDE: EDE can start in High Moor, just outside the misty forest. EDE scouts in the field may be in the vicinity of Triel

Barbarians. Will start in High moor

Dwarves: will start in their guildhouse preparing to march.

Elder circle: May elect to start at their guild house, Norther sharptooth forest (the Fist fort), or in the wilderness around Triel (I would recommend picking one so that you guys can be together).

Doron Amar: may start in DA or in norther sharptooth (the fist fort).

I think that is everyone, lets focus on RP, RP, RP as the enemy is at the gates.

Borbag travelling with his trusty mule ((yes... a half-breed with a half-breed)), finally arrives in Triel. After such a long journey with little rest, he immediately throws down a bed roll and falls asleep, his mule joining him in much needed rest.

On awakening he brings Clyde some water and a feedbag. Eats the same food he poured into the feedbag out of a bowl and proceeds to help with the towns defenses.

//Is there any timeline for the event? I missed the last one because I thought it was afternoon... I get back from work at 7:15 A M Pacific time.
Borbag Zirkus: Champion to a cause lost to others.

Rogal Steelfist: Unexpected for a dwarf? No.

The dwarven generals have gathered with their advisors, sages, wizards, and priests to discuss the Black Orc Threat. They take their experience from the recent war to develop combined arms strategies to most effectively combine blade, hammer, and spell. The martial advisors agree that the age old tactic of defensive formations protecting archers and users of magic are most effective. The practicioners of magic conclude that it is best to utilize hindering magics against enemy archers and magics of enchantment against the enormous Black Orc Warriors that have come to be known as "Bezerkers". They recommend using spells that will allow the allied spellcasters to dominate the actions of these massive brutes and turn them against their fellows. They also explain that these massive warriors are so tough that trying to kill them will exhaust spells quickly and that turning them against their kin is the most efficient use of magic.

After the decision has been made, the wizards hurry to create sendings to the dwarven allies to relay their ideas and suggestions.

///EDIT TO ADD: I re-read DM Ogorgon's rules and as far as I can tell, Sendings are legal means of communication. If I am incorrect in my interpretation, my apologies and I shall retract the above sending.

Tyn tree strides back to the grove and leaves a note for his brothers and sisters, explaining the plight of Triel, and his worries about the damage this war would do to the land after the last time the Black Orcs marches. He requests all that can to aid in this cause, and to meet him in the forests around Triel.

Upon completing this, Tyn rests and refreshes, completes his meditations, and returns to Triel.

* Directly after the meeting at the OSR, Lady Elvina orders the triage unit to be set up In Triel instead of the boreskyr bridge being so that it would be closer to the front line and to directly aid any of the people who chose to stay in the town instead of evacuate as Sir Uriel has been encourageing. Standing order for all available Knights were to head out to Triel and meet with Sir Uriel for further orders. She also after making last minute preperations and gathering supplies headed there herself *

(( ooc - OSR will have the Triage Unit in Triel and they will start in Triel as has been RPed :).
Lady Elvina Aira-S'efarro - The Order of the Silver Rose
Salaria - Bounty Hunter half-sister of Darius Brothers
Angelina Northstar - Holy Warrior of Tyr / Knight of the Silver Rose
Matilda Stonehold - Honorable Sheild Dwarf
Loriah Swift - Morninglord of Lathander

En Villi climbed the ridge without a sound. His foot steps, trained for more than a century of time to act their part in a deadly silence, now stopped as he came before the peak. He peered down to the valley below to see a sight that did make him wince. Even if he had made a sound, it would have been drowned by the dark stench of orc moving across the land and the sound of whips cracking against the granite hides of the fearsome war trolls. He had found his treacherous enemies main army, as it now moved like slithering long shadow through the meadow below.

He took in all that he could see, the berzerkers, females and cubs all followed by a large war troll. Suddenly, he heard the sound of a footstep as it bent down gently upon blowing blades of grass near him. Without thought he began to slowly pulls his blade but then his survival sense kicked in. The blades displaced were not large and his eyes finally beheld the silhouette of a slight figure ten paces away from him . "Tarl, I had told you to remain at camp", he whispered.

"But I wanted to see.....", a young elven voice responded. En Villi shook his head, for he knew that despite the fact that his young elven ward might have been struck down just now, he in fact would have done the same in his youth. At least before he met these beasts that now march on their path toward the human town of Triel. "Very well", he responded but his wisdom knew where he now to go, so would Tarl, and thus he could not chance getting any closer.

Mendel took his younger kin and set a path to Triel that would miss the Orcs by several leagues he thought but they needed to get there before these beasts. So they ran, moving as like wind between the trees and not daring to move near to their enemies position. They ran not just for their lives but those of the innocent lives that are now trapped before the coming of this shadow. Mendel thinks of his beloved Nai, her own innocence regarding the death and pain these monsters administer to all in their wake. He then runs faster than the wind..........

Charraj walks around the Friendly Arm Inn courtyard, asking if anyone can tell him how to get to Triel. It is obvious that he has never been there. Why he wants to go is anyone's guess.

. . .

The wizardess Yoruichi guides Charraj to Triel in exchange for a magical scroll. Charraj begins to search for someone.

//Edit: Oops, let me know if Charraj can even get into Triel.//

After her long absence from the Sword Coast, during when no one knows where or what she was doing, Valge returned to lands troubled by the Orc War. She had thought the orcs had all been dealt with and was quite surprised to hear that wasn't the case. En Dharasha Everae showed her around in the village that now was their home. Valge has sensed peace amongst the ancient trees, yet many elves wished to fight against the orcs, their bloodlust strong. The village Elders had thought the threat being too far away to be of any concern but... was it right to watch kin suffer and do nothing?

It had gnawed at her mind and her bones. She hadn't dared to voice her opinion of what she really thought, instead she spent her time in the woods, whispering in the trees as the wind, trying to get the ancient ones to reveal their secrets. It could be hundreds of years before she learned anything of value to her, as the value of things to trees were different. Valge didn't have that time. What she had were choices. At last she made her choice known to Laisren and the others;

"I will ward those who cannot protect themselves, help those who suffer, heal and revive the land." Valge paused, thinking how to best word what she wanted to say next. She knew she didn't have a way with words so what she said must be said with care. "You might say it can be prevented by death and destruction of the orcs, that the ends justify the means. I however cannot view it as simply. If we don't act, there will be destruction. If we do act, there will be destruction as well. It might not make sense to you, see it as druid blather." then she quickly added, "Of course now if the village was overrun or someone nearby in real danger I would act and not merely watch! But I will not go in to battle by choice. I will assist in any other way I can."

While Valge waited for the others to approve or disapprove of her choice, she helped the villagers with potion making by gathering ingredients. The trees had told her one thing, which plant was the best for stomache ache after drinking unclean water. If you were a badger.

// Valge will, if allowed, offer wards to anyone. They will be displayed in her bio ((unless that is not allowed)). Obviously, find a way to ask her IC, 'Do you have anything that makes my weapon deal more damage?' than 'FW plz'. This is so that someone doesn't get barkskin, spiderskin and tortoise shell (3 wasted spells)

After being rescued by another group, but losing the supplies, Sayiel focus on putting mud on the barricades so they doesn't catch fire, as well as healing those that would injure themselves trying to put up defenses. She ask all those willing to give a hand to put mud on the flamable stuff around so that it doesn't smoke and burn the defenders of Triel

*Azmodeth, curiously hearing about the going on in Triel, and the fact a few of her friends thought themselves hero's and pretty much signed up to defend against the Orcs, fealt it was needed to go and pay a visit.*

*Upon arriving, she met up with a contingient of adventuring troops banded together to defeat the orcs, amongst some of them her friends Like Merek, Diana, or aquiantances like Garag who could use her assistance. She promptly offered her survices and garunteed to help out. *

*Merek fell once, and Azmodeth instantly spelled the Orc to his doom, getting revenge for her longer standing friend. Garag at one point being surrouned and chased by an Orc outmatching him, Azmodeth stepped in to fire a few spells off to finish the job quicker before any real harm came his way.*

*Later, Azmodeth, not seeing the group act digilant enough to rescue a fallen adventurer further down the road, broke off, and with a few etherreal juants recovered the body of an Elf, hwom she did not get her name, presented to the group upon return, and had the elf ressurected.*

*Regrouped with the party, the roads were cleared of the Orcs, and we headed into Triel, for a recoup and (hoo) of survivors and a sitrep of the status quo, where Azmodeth caught up on the going ons.*

"can not remember the last time I needed to spell ten stoneskins. . ."
*then a few friends, Azmodeth, Hinzel, Diana, Merek, and a masked man, all went fishing to relax before having to go back*

The members of the Grove (and Robin) kept vigilance from the top of the Fist's fortified tower in the Northern Sharpteeth woods. From there they were able to see across the river toward Triel, as well as the vast swath of land stretching beyond. Their vigilant eyes were unable to detect any signs of movment from the Black Orcs from the river, so eventually the druids Celdor and Justan and the rangers Stephanie Oz and Celduil Selie decided to treestride to Triel to hear the news there firsthand, meanwhile the ranger Lambe and weaselmaster Robin remained behind.

They found the members of the resistance clearing the orcs which were scouting around Triel. When all the orcs had been cleared they all returned to Triel to rest, where they discussed their new plans. The Elder Circle soon learned of the elf Vanya's plans to destroy the bridge with a large supply of explosives which was being kept within the town. After discussing it among themselves the druids and ranger decided they were mortified to be so close to the large collection of explosives, and decided to warn the others of there being too many variables to their plan before Justan once more opened a portal in a nearby tree for the others to stride through.

Celduil offered to return to the keep to watch over the land for signs of whether their plan would go ahead or not, while the others returned to rest for the moment.

Lida gently brushed the pale gelding she had taken as a battle prize while contemplating what to do during the coming battle and how to inspire the ragers when the time came.

She smirked, not that they werent doing their best inspiring themself for the moment drinking, brawling or occasionally giving their own prizes some attention.
She really should take the time to teach the new tribeswomen what it meant to be one, they surely seemed to need a lot more spine in general.
She sighed, after the battle there would be time.
If there were any tribes by then.

With true nightfall she would find a place of solitude and solace to enter trance and discern the wishes of the Spirits of the Land when it came to punishing this Black Horde.
Maybe her liege would have an idea or two as well?
Lida had seen her children flock in murders heading in the direction of Triel during the entire days march towards glory and death.

She gave the horse a friendly pat and checked that it was properly hobbled with plenty of grass to graze, it would need the strength come tomorrow.

They all would.
