As a new sun rose over Nashkel it did not take long for the rumours of Wai Li’s resignation from her position as Head Watchknight begun to circulate throughout the House of the Guardian. A written statement from the now preceding Head Watchknight were left for each of the Everwatch detailing of it.
The sun reaching high noon Watchknight Sveta Asperan was seen leaving the temple taking patrol of Nashkel upon her warhorse. Although something that is not uncommon for her today seemed distinguished. She strode the roads of Nashkel not upon horse back, but leading her horse by its reigns. Upon her high mount it was normal for her to keep reserved watch over her beloved township. Today however, she was seen returning smiles of any friendly faces she passed on foot. Her pace was gradual, seeming to be savouring the moment. Her duty now was as a part of her township, no longer a stranger.
As that late summers sun begun its decline the clergy, Everwatch and patrons of the House of the Guardian gathered within its halls as a private ceremony was held in its meeting room. Their stirs were set quiet as Sveta and Wai exited the private room, Sveta taking to the crowd gathered, Wai taking stage behind the lectern and addressed those gathered with the following statement.
“Brothers and sisters in faith, people of Amn, friends throughout the realm,
Effective today, I have stepped down from leadership of the Everwatch Knights and promoted in my stead is ever capable Watchknight Sveta Asperan, Paladin of Helm, to lead us as the new Head Watchknight. It has been an honor to serve in a leadership position of our knightly order and the Helmite church and it will be an honor still to again serve the officers appointed over me as a Watchknight. I am deeply moved and encouraged by the progress we have helped usher in recently in Northern Amn and the region at large and I am supremely confident that the new Head Watchknight will go far beyond the successes that we have already had for the mission of our Helmite faith.

From the crowd stepped forward the new Head Watchknight dressed in her ceremonial plate. A look of determined confidence shone upon her face as she strode between the benches of the temple. It briefly faded as she solemnly addressed Wai Li with a dip of her head and quiet words in thanks before relieving her of the lectern. The paladin briefly composed herself upon the stage, her gaze drifting among those present, many of whom she now commanded. Her voice resounded throughout the halls as the Head Watchknight spoke up.
“A sentiment I wish to carry on from the fair held recently in the township of Beregost. New beginnings. Today marks a new dawn for the Everwatch as the esteemed Wai Li hands her leadership upon me.
Over the past months her guidance has been welcomed and received with an open heart and mind. It became evident I was to be groomed as her successor, although it was not something I had expected so soon. The timing of her resignation comes as much of a surprised to me as to all those gathered here today. That being said, her decision has been well discussed and thought out in private. She will continue her service to Helm and the Everwatch as a Watchknight, and as a personal advisor to me. Wisdom again that I must state will be welcomed in the years to come.
I have full confidence in her decision to name me her successor and will strive to confirm that thought, to continue on the footsteps of prosperity she has laid before me.
They are heavy shoes she leaves for me.
It was not long after my arrival here within our halls that I began to learn my duty extends beyond the battle field, beyond that of the vigilant guard. My duty is to the realm of men, and often a sword is not required to perform that. Since Helm revealed his divine vessel in defence of our beloved township his faith has become an integral all parts of our society.
It is my prerogative as Head Watchknight of the Everwatch that I make a commitment to the people of Nashkel that the foundations of economic stability laid by the Nashkel Trade Emporium are seen to bear fruit for our denizens. That peace and stability will be wrought under my command of the Everwatch.
I ask now of you to bow you heads as I say a few words in prayer.
Great Guardian. I Sveta Asperan, Head Watchknight in your name, stand humbled upon grounds devoted to your service. I pray for your guidance in my duty, to guide sword to be just and true, for my watch to remain vigil and for peace to reign over the realm of men.

With the closing words, a common celestial phrase heard within the temple of Helm, the new Head Watchknight left the stage to be with those she now commands.

Rumor has it that vigil of the Head Watchknight was tested as she returned from meeting dignitaries in the north. As she stepped forth, taking the last remaining strides into the halls she now calls home she was met with a blast of divine energy. There are murmurs that there holds a reward for evidence in who set the trap before the entrance of the House of the Guardian.

It has been four days now since the Helmites and companions left north, a task weighing heavy upon all of their minds. That night as a red dusk set they return to Nashkel. Their armor battered by conflict, cloaks stained in a concoction of dirt, blood and soot. An uncommon sight for the usually pristine clad Head Watchknight. Her face was solemn, unclear by her expression if what transpired was a victory or a defeat, as she strode through the streets of Nashkel with two fewer brothers by her side than she had departed with. An extra scabbard of Wai Li's that laid empty when they left was filled when they finally did return.
Preparations for a ritual within the House of the Guardian have begun. Security for the mean time has been tightened. While unknown guests to the temple are welcomed they would get a feeling that their movements are being carefully watched.

A day after the band of hikers return from their expedition to climb the now named Auril’s Crown the Head Watchknight of the Everwatch, who had been a part of that band, delivers a letter personally to the local militia. She request it be delivered to the overseer of the guard.
“Honourable overseer of Nashkel’s guard,
Given the general excitement the mountaineers Dorbur, and Aselii’s expedition has created within our township I presume you have already heard of what has transgressed. If it has yet to reach your ears I will be willing to provide a full report to you personally.
I as the Head Watchknight of the Everwatch sought this as an opportunity to gain better understand of the mountain range that ranges our beloved township southern border. In that it was a success in some regards. There however are two matters in which I wish to bring to your attention.
The first, a gnomish guide, Clonifop, who joined us in our expedition. Along our venture a sheer lack of diligence was show fully as the gnome repeatedly tempted fate with the chilling grasp of the Cold Goddess. It was not till in our attempts to peacefully negotiate with a local Frost Giant populace that did he attempt to aggravate them and flee under the veil of invisibility. Whether his actions throughout the negotiations eased tensions or raised them is a matter of opinion however.
It was later learned upon returning to Nashkel and reconvening with Clonifop that he so boldly stated that he intentionally attempted to sabotage our attempt to climb Auril’s Crown, and has been doing so to similar ventures in the past. His failure as a guide that has led many mountaineers to an icy grave in the past was no accident, no freak mistake. I implore you to see that this gnome is brought to face justice for guising as a guide of the Cloud Peaks with malicious intent. He evaded my attempts to bring into custody by teleporting away by means of arcane magic. He is a gnome of short stature, a full beard and moustache of greying hair. However you may find a more detailed description of him from those of the mountaineering society.
The second matter which I wish to bring to your attention is that Auril’s Crown was not unclaimed before we began our expedition. An adult White dragon and its two young have taken residence atop the peak. It was not without a tense discussion and offerings that we were allowed to leave its domain peacefully. It is my belief that it is prudent to bar any mountaineering licences to those who wish to venture upon Auril’s Crown. The White dragon grows restless by those who attempt to venture its claimed peak and less we wish to tempt its wrath upon our township it is in Nashkel’s best interest to ensure the peak remains unmarred by the touch of men.

Numerous knights, Elves, those of nature and personal friends to the Everwatch were seen gathering within the House of the Guardian while a storm raged outside, soaking the guests to the temple. They left for the private meeting hall not returning for nigh on 6 hours later, Sveta's face showing some exhaustion on her face as she left the room.
Later in the night a public message board is setup to one side of the reception within the House of the Guardian. Three notes were set upon it.

A new poster is fixed upon the message board within the House of the Guardian.
• Teams shall be limited to one archer, or person using ranged projectiles. Should the archers two companions submit or fall before themselves, they must then restrain from firing projectile, and either forfeit or take melee arms for the remained of the round. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
• Teams will be allowed one person to start shadows. That person, and only that person, may be allowed hide through innate ability to a maximum of two additional times throughout the round. Should they exceed that number it may result in disqualification.
• Should the Archer of a team wish to utilize innate abilities of stealth, as allowed by the second rule, they will be only allowed to hide in shadows once, rather than being able to start from shadows and having two additional uses. This one use would be expended if they wish to start from hiding.
• Members of teams will be allowed to cast three preparatory spells, so long as they are not directly harmful in nature, each before the round begins. These wards needed not be casted upon their person and could be upon fellow teammates. The wards must come from innate ability to cast the spells, meaning a one cannot borrow from a teammates allowance of spells. Each individual is limited to cast three spells, but may be the subject of more than three wards. It also means potions, wands, scrolls, or any items with spell like effects will be disallowed. Arcane spells must be performed with proper license and will be expected to be shown on the day. There will be no spell casting beyond these preparatory wards.
• Spells that mend wounds over extended lengths of time will not be allowed to be cast as preparatory wards.
• Bardic innate inspiration will be allowed, however other innate abilities, excluding arcane spells, will be disallowed throughout the tournament.
• Abilities that vastly alter ones shape, such as a Wizards Polymorph or a Druid's ability to take the form of animals are prohibited.
• The spell Elemental Shield, and the summoning of creatures through the means of magic are prohibited. One may call upon an animal companion, however it will count towards the limitation of three team members.
• Innate abilities apart from the ones mentioned will be allowed without hindrance less the mediator deem otherwise during the event.
• Participants must remain within the boundaries set, stepping outside, or being forced outside will be considered a knockout.
• The event is in the name of good sportsmanship, and it is expected the participants to submit once their strength has been expended. Should death occur the party at fault will be fined to cover the cost of resurrection.
• The tournament shall be mediated by Head Watchknight Sveta Asperan and final decisions will come from her discretion. She reserves the right to prohibit entry to those who she believes unsportsmanlike in nature.

On the 13th of Nightal an open entry team melee will be hosted by the Everwatch in the farmlands surrounding Nashkel. Teams of three will do battle in the name of good sportsmanship, friendly competition, and for a prize pool of 100,000 danters. Entertainment will be provided by the temple and Endelyon, former White Mask prize winner, during the intermission between rounds of conflict.
The format will be single elimination, with no limitations on skill bracket. The prize pool shall be awarded to the team captains as following, 60,000 Danter for first prize, 30,000 Danter for second, and 10,000 Danter for third. It is requested you leave note for Sveta Asperan at the House of the Guardian in advance of the event to register your teams, however the tournament will be open entry on the day till the first round has been completed. • The spell Elemental Shield, and the summoning of creatures through the means of magic are prohibited. One may call upon an animal companion, however it will count towards the limitation of three team members.
• Innate abilities apart from the ones mentioned will be allowed without hindrance less the mediator deem otherwise during the event.
• Participants must remain within the boundaries set, stepping outside, or being forced outside will be considered a knockout.
• The event is in the name of good sportsmanship, and it is expected the participants to submit once their strength has been expended. Should death occur the party at fault will be fined to cover the cost of resurrection.
• The tournament shall be mediated by Head Watchknight Sveta Asperan and final decisions will come from her discretion. She reserves the right to prohibit entry to those who she believes unsportsmanlike in nature.

There is a bustle about the House of the Guardian. Old benches stored away in the temples basement have been brought outside to be dusted and refurbished for use in the tournament tomorrow. Sacks of food and barrels of ale have been loaded into a wagon ready for its journey on the morrow.

The wagons departed north along the tradeway, the buzz about the temple increases as there is a small migration northward. The final stages of preparation for the tournament are coming to a close.

The Tournament appeared to start off well, with an air of merriment and good humours. Teams fought each other in good spirit. At the finals however, between the Song of the Morning Temple and the Hellstorm Crew, things were taken a bit too far.
Kalma Hellstorm appeared to try to kill Ameris Santraeger and succeeded, at which he kicked and then spat at the lifeless body. The audience were in confusion, many just thinking the priest was down - not dead. As realization hit among the crowd, Telia Navra stood up from the bench she had been seated on. Magical energy swirling around herself, as it became evident that no one else would act against Kalma. The sorceress sent off a spell, containing Kalma with a crushing magical hand.
Telia was soon apprehended by the guards, appearing to loose all spirit and only the guards' firm grips on her arms keeping her upright. She made no signs of resistance, tears streaming down her face. Ameris was resurrected by one of the many divine servants who were attending. After returning to life, the priest was trying to understand what had happened. Telia was dragged off to one of the tents, where she was bound. Ameris made his way over to her but the sorceress showed little to no sign of responding to anyone.
She was seen being carried away to the Helmite Temple in Nashkel - The House of the Guardian. It would seem that she is to face some kind of charges.
