A few words are written in an elegant and feminine hand,

I watch it slide away;
Leaving me behind;
The colour disappears;
My dreams are with that sun.

Under it, someone has sketched a silver star of Mystra with a bright light shining behind it. Beneath the star and the rays, is a field of rock violets and daisies. The sketch is quite artistically made.
"I don't want to pretend at magic anymore. I want to be magic."

It was some time before Cecilia approached the book, laid out upon pedestal nearest the heavy doors that served as entrance to the grandiose interior of the temple. It, like many of the tomes within that holy place, was lined with gold at page's edge and weighted as surely as the reasoning for why it was there. Yet, even as she picked up the quill in the privacy of eve where she might best channel the words in gracious summary of all that was, and all that had been, the lady knight found none. The metal nib of the feather bobbed upon the surface of ink's lagoon in silence; stark contrast to the rolling waves of memorium within. Several times the implement hovered over page, each with a different thought. Memories, promises, references; spoken and shown. All that could be. Several times implement was likewise retracted.

It was near on an hour later, slender fingers cramped in grasp of quill, that the elegant cursive of a feminine hand lay private words to rest in their permanency...

Upon my very soul, the imprint of your fingertips remain.
Emblazoned. Impassioned. Cherished. Our memories are our own.

Eternal,
Cecilia Lafayette.

A neat precise hand makes another entry. The first text is written in flowing script, not in common but in alzhedo. Readers of said language could translate it.*

Below it is something written in common.

You saw my loss, and shone light onto it. You fostered my hopes. You forgave my mistakes. You accepted my choices. I owed you more.

You deeds will live on, I swear it.

Your brother, Ameris.

Eva's penmanship can be found delivered to rest alongside the guestbook, folded and wax sealed with the strict instruction that the words are for the departed. Not for the living.

But, if someone got curious, they'd find a flowing, elven scribed letter.
Dearest Eldarian,

How dare you leave me in the midst of so many uncertainties. Indeed, how dare you fill your flock with so much remorse. I never met a man with a firmer stick wedged up their rear, as to imitate a corn stalk with your stupid, gorgeous hair. With so much pride and so much fame, that he'd risk so many trips out alone, knowing his enemies are near countless.

So I can't understand why the hells I miss you so much. No, that's a lie. I do know why. You were still a good friend, and a wonderful ally in trying times. And though we didn't have the privilege of growing close, I will still say I was honored to know the legend.

I wish you could read this. I wish we could've had just one damn hour to talk alone. From the moment I did all I could to shake you to your foundations, I knew I'd love you. Not that way, don't get stuck up on yourself. I'm not like every other woman across the coast. But there was a joy in teasing one another back and forth. I never met a paladin simultaneously as fun as they wee vex'ing as yourself. A great mystery that now has slipped away from me, deeper into the Luminous Cloud.

Well. if you can still read this from beyond. Don't worry.

Your clergy are shaken. The morning brings uncertainty, without you there to as persistently as ever lead the prayers of Dawn. Without your voice to echo through the halls, and your smile to signify that all will be well.

For nearly one hundred years, I've witnessed the same startling repetitions across species. Like a fallen stag from his herd, everything continues on forward but with deep uncertainty. Inevitably, another rises to take his place. But you'd be amazed how the deer always are. There's some sense within them that knows, this is not the same. This is not what they grew with. This is not whom led them through winter before.

But they always push forward. If you can read this, I'll be here for them. No, not as a leader. Just as a friend. I don't plan on joining the following - my own people need me far too much, and the night brings with it its own demands of heroes and heroines.

But I'll provide what aid I may. I will ensure that future as deeply as I can. Like we promised, Doron Amar and the Song of the Morning, will grow more knit together with time. Not just allies. But friends, and neighbors. Not just comrades on battlefields. But emboldened, joyous followings of song and dance. Of revelry, and duty.

I still hold angst that you could leave us so soon. But Sehanine teaches us that death is a joyous occasion, and so I will smile. And hold my head up high. And I will do what I may to ensure the same of your brothers and sisters.

All except the prat that acted like he was working for the Duchal, he can walk off a short pier for all I care. But the rest, be assured. I stand with them. The People, stand with them.

Because what's the moon, without the sun? Nothing. Endless night, and endless day, serves no one at all. The Blood of Corellon, and the Tears of Sehanine, will do all we can to see that beautiful feature of the Melding, together.

So take heart, Eldarian. Your work is far from pointless, for your passing. Your words will echo on. And your deeds will serve to feed the fires of a new hero, looking just as eagerly to perform good and become so well known.

And I'll be there to smile on them. And tell them just how proud I am, to know them as well.

I just wish we'd had more time, together.

May your trip through the veil of worlds be short. May your coming be heralded by your God. May you smile down on we the living,

Onna'evatril Moonwhisper
A sprig of holly is left atop the letter, left beside the guestbook.

Knight-Commander,

I regret we never tested one another's knighthood and skill at arms. With your death much goes unlearned by differences uncompared.

You asked me of my joy once. Now I wonder what is become of your joy, since that you are dead?

Our conversation was brief. So is life.

You and I - we will not meet again beyond the veil.

Hello Eldarian,

actually I forget to write in here. But somehow that is fine, because now it is much easier to find the right words. Your ceremony has been very sad any many tears have been shed. The more I am happy that Lathander lead you to the light of a new dawn. Welcome back my friend and companion. I hope to meet you soon.

Mielikki bless you
