Eldarian Al'maire- Physical Hallmarks

PHYSICAL HALLMARKS:
While hushed colors of dawn blossomed across the glittering water of the Sea Ward in the City of Splendors, an initial cry of a healthy newborn echoed on the 20th day of Flamerule, 1326; Year of the Striking Hawk in a private estate. This child grew into the man that presently roams the Sword Coast.

Eldarian, who appears to be in his late twenties, is fairly tall and athletically built with broad shoulders and a lean, tapering waist. His hair is cut short and like spun gold, often shining in the sun, and from birth his eyes were ever a glacier blue speckled with gold. In recent days, it seems that Eldarian's eyes have begun to change subtly. It is as though the gold sparks in his irises have slowly extended themselves, reaching to mingle and pool together in a bright ring around the pupils, starting to flood out the otherwise glacial clearness found within. The effect of it is akin to the sun itself unfurling its radiance outward, the auric-hued ring bleeding into that of the blue. His visage is heightened much beyond that of a normal human, even in utter darkness. His handsome, strong face is often smiling but his emotions can run the gamut from enraged to stern to laughing easily- a testament to his relative youth. His skin is glowing, kissed by the sun and his teeth are straight and a dazzling white. He seems to bathe often and looks the picture of health. A fair amount of dark, groomed stubble covers his jaw. Amidst the scent of metal and polish, faint traces of crisp leather and burned wood linger in his presence.

The knight has some palpable otherworldly features as well that are discernable to anyone, such as his strangely pointed ears and a melodic voice that hums with authority and wisdom that seems disconnected with his youthful age.

He’s normally dressed in battle armor, polished and cared for by a perfectionist’s hand, and he moves as though unperturbed by the weight of it all.The metallic armor is often strapped to his muscular frame through much effort and time. A metallic green leaf, fashioned into a clasp, holds a cloak of brilliant gold around his shoulders, draping almost completely to the ground. A delicately crafted amulet hangs around his neck; a holy symbol depicting Lathander's dawn. A curved longsword drapes at his left side due to right handedness in an ornate leather sheath and when drawn the blade radiates a sacred aura.

The young man's resolute gait has an air of nobility and confidence about it, his posture straight and head held high in purpose. Eldarian speaks with a high-class accent, with careful cadence and light pronunciation, similar in many ways to the accents affected by Waterdhavian noblemen.

A new element of Eldarian's appearance has become apparent of late, which boasts of his numerous life experiences. It also gives glory to Lathander through the creativity involved in their execution. Several tattoos have been commissioned by the paladin, obviously expensive due to their high artistic quality. Though it is due to the permanent illusory magic infused into the images that appear to make them move that betrays just how rare they actually are.
  • Homage to Zephyr: Eldarian's right forearm is swathed in a gloomy emerald ink that gives shape to numerous heights of pine trees which look to be situated on a mountainside. A magical storm and ruthless winds keep the pines on an endless loop of shivering and bending before the might of the tempest on their own.
Homage to Sacrifice: Upon the paladin's left forearm is the image of a full faced helm, though the eyeholes and the wide slit for nose and mouth give a glimpse of looking into a war-torn battlefield after some epic bout. In the scene, tattered banners fly in the wind, crows flutter with black wings and hop among the carnage, and hungry wolves prowl among the fallen.

POSSESSIONS:
An eventful collection of years has been spent upon the Sword Coast by Eldarian, and during this span of time he has acquired many items: tokens, mementos, curios, and even artifacts of unspeakable power. Some of these have been packed carefully away, kept specifically in various, far-flung locations known to the paladin; yet some have been destroyed in his questing, or within the requirements of his oaths. Still other such items are retained on his person or in his close custody, however, held near to him for a variety of reasons.
[th=2] EQUIPPED [/th]
Holy Symbol of Lathander: Hung on a chain of white gold, the face of the symbol rests on painted wood, dappled with rose quartz and is enchanted to radiate a dim, pink glow.
Order of the Aster Ring: When bare-handed, a complex ring bearing the image of a meticulous gem-laden sun is visible on his right hand. When asked, Eldarian explains the ring was a gift from the order with congratulations attached.
Radiant Morning: The longsword kept at Eldarian's left hip. Embellished in its design, the crossguard of the weapon is shaped like a rising sun and the hilt wrapped in a cord of rich yellow hue. When drawn, the silver-white blade emits a gentle glow, the holy aura lighting the surrounding area.
Saint Lighthammer's Armor of Divine Golden Brilliance: In thoroughly examining the armor, one would quickly notice that its heavily protected armored plates are made of a finely shaped and exquisitely carved golden alloy material with priceless and beautiful craftsmanship and carved designs throughout. The armor radiates an ambience of light and has gorgeous calligraphy varied throughout its surface, stating holy sermons of the faith of the Lord of the Dawn, imbuing it with divine magical powers. The armor is a relic of the Lathanderite faith and once belonged to a famous saint and martyr before being passed down to him.
Sliver of Light: A heavy shield that would appear to have taken some time to make, the materials both expensive and rare. On the shield's face are a few engraved words in an exotic language "Fafen teloch, vita" and a simple rose-red circle in the middle.
Topaz Ring: An ornate golden ring rests on the man's left hand. There is a sizeable, brilliant, pale yellow topaz inlaid within. Eldarian does not comment on origins when asked.
Image
VISIBLE
Blood Moth: A vivid, blood-red moth resides suspended in a pendant disk of unblemished yellow amber. An odd token and one that might even appear somewhat unsettling at first glance, it nevertheless clearly represents something of import to the knight. The polished memento is attached to the golden chain upon which Eldarian keeps his prayerbook, easily glimpsed by anyone who may take note.
Broken Scepter of Anatolius: An artifact from the Lathanderite faith, this broken and mangled scepter was once used in a one on one battle with “The General," the Netherese horror that had meant to bring ruin upon the Coast with his undead army. The scepter, however, thwarted those efforts and victory was as sweet as the dawn’s colors that day. Eldarian keeps it near his sword to remind himself often of the power of his Lord.
Cloak Clasp:

Designed by his own hand, a single green leaf crafted into an ornate clasp was commissioned to fasten the front of Eldarian's golden cloak.

Copper Sun:

A small ornament is hooked to Eldarian's cloak and glints in the sunlight that it catches. It is a worn and used thing with nicks and scratches about its surface and was crafted solely by hand. The humble charm was given as a gift to the paladin.

Gilded Leather Belt:

Circling the knight's midsection resides a belt of quality materials and workmanship, the length of it home to many essential components of Eldarian's daily life. Notably, several wands rest within fast reach upon the belt, as well as several sacred vials filled with holy water.

Gnomish Timepiece:

An odd, quiet ticking seems to emanate from the knight, this the quiet symphony of a small, Gnomish time-keeping contraption that Eldarian keeps in a pocket on his belt; though its versatility as a device allows for the face of it to be removed and clasped about the wrist, when Eldarian feels so inclined to wear it that way.

Handheld Prayer Book:

Lately, a small prayer book seems to often reside in the gloved grip of the paladin. When he is not absorbed in reading it, the little tome rests at his side, hooked to his belt with a golden chain.

Peculiar Prism:

An odd prism hooks to the netting that carries Eldarian's Spherelight. It hiccups with a soft rainbow of delicate colors whenever the knight walks and sometimes an unknown force rattles it when he stands still. Any use for it has yet to be divined by the knight but he keeps it close just in case.

Red Cord:

A thin, nearly faded red cord wraps around the man's upper arm and holds the white threaded material in place. The cord seems to have lived through much and it has begun to unravel on one end. It was gifted to the man long ago.

Spherelight:

A thick glass sphere in twine netting rests on the paladin’s hip. Inside the glass is a combination of some mysterious acidic substance as well as what could appear to be miniature will-o-wisps. When shaken, the globe emits a warm and brightly glowing radiance.

Image
Translucent Gemstone:

A gemstone seems secured to the paladin's belt, tied in place. It barely holds any color to it's surface and it is as large as a human eye. The item seems rather useless but vibrates with a magical energy.

White Threaded Material:

A long, pure white swath of material is wrapped tightly around Eldarian's upper arm. Currently over half of the cloth is covered in a dark and dirty blood-red hue. While it signifies and means nothing to others, Eldarian holds onto this dearly and does not speak of its purpose.

HIDDEN
Bronze Dragon Scale: Given to Eldarian with much enthusiasm from the young dragon who shed it, the shimmering scale has become a physical embodiment of the quick, fond relationship that has cropped up between the paladin and the bronze dragon Melancthonixtarg. He keeps it close, tucked into a certain hidden pocket of his cloak; a talisman of draconic might and a symbol against evil, as well as a reminder of friendship.
Crystal Ball of Griselda: This relic is from a bygone era when war had ripened upon the Coast. The miniature crystal orb is a spatter of captured light and usually rests upon his circlet, unseen by most. The paladin keeps it close to use its power if a formidable Plague Spitter ever ventures near again.
Golden Chalice: A masterfully and delicately worked chalice can sometimes be noted when Eldarian is feeling festive or celebrating. The item is high quality and made of pure gold and has known to draw the eye of both noble and poor men alike. The story behind how he acquired such a thing is only told on stormy nights when wind howls fiercely and the land rumbles with thunder.
Lump of Stone: An odd lump of unworked stone rests in a pouch on the paladin’s belt though it hardly ever sees use. A soft and magical aura radiates from it and it seems to hum with a woman’s beautiful but ghostly voice from time to time when it sees the light of day.
Ring of Many Keys: Hidden away in a secured pocket is a large ring boasting many keys of all shapes and sizes. At this point in his collection of them, only Eldarian himself and the gods alone know which key specifically goes to what or where.
Tarot- Seven of Wands: A small tarot card is kept hidden in the man's pockets. It depicts a man wielding a staff, fending off at least six attackers from the summit of a hill. The figure is powerful in his stance. Eldarian received this card after a reading and has kept it after it was handed over as a gift.
Image
STORAGE
Ancient Map: A map to a crypt that is hidden deep within the Cloudpeaks is stored cautiously with the paladin's belongings. It is an aged and yellow thing, with various eldritch sigils scrawled across the bottom that remain a mystery to Eldarian, yet it is a puzzle that he has not seen fit to part with. Balor's Tear: The gem, despite its ominous name, proved to be a crucial component that aided in empowering the Scepter of Anatolius to be an even more effective weapon wielded by those of Lathander during the Undead Wars. A warmth is felt in the gem's presence when one reaches for it. The Tear was entrusted to his care years ago, and he has kept it safe in his custody ever since. Beregost Masquerade Tickets: A slip of parchments with slightly faded ink due to years gone by is tucked into Eldarian's belongings, the lettering upon it indicating admission to the first and second annual Lathanderite Masquerade Ball held at the Travenhurst Estate in Beregost and the White Mask Theatre in Baldur's Gate. Though they could be seen as an inconsequential memento to many, they are one that is still kept by Eldarian to this day.
Book of Lathanderite Devotion: Filled with numerous hymns and prayers written to glorify the Morninglord and dedicated to Eldarian himself by the author, the original text of this book is kept proudly among the Lathanderite's belongings.
Book of Reflections: An odd book is included among Eldarian's small library of such things, obtained from a book seller in Athkatla outside the Dome of the Rose. Unlike his other tomes the cover of this one seems to shiver and shift from time to time. The text within it is senseless and chaotic; overall, it is a book that defies explanation but is viewed as an intriguing puzzle to the paladin who owns it.
Dawn Touched Well Water: Though commonly used for the purposes of high ceremony and churchly ritual, Eldarian nevertheless has a vial of dawn touched well water among his personal effects, knowing that it is a substance especially infused by the blessings of his Lord.
Drawing: An inked drawing of a pair of large, glove-clad hands clutching a leather ball tightly is kept in Eldarian's trunk. The work is unsigned, one edge raw as though torn from binding, but realistic and poignant in the depiction of longing that it portrays.
Feywine Raisin: What appears to be a single, mundane raisin is for some reason kept in a tiny, corked vial among Eldarian's possessions. Though it doesn't look like anything much, the item seems to be a most curious thing, giving off an intoxicating, heady aroma when uncorked that time does not seem to dissipate.
Filigreed and Gilded Tome: An ornate book is kept tucked away in Eldarian's possessions, grand and beautiful of cover but filled with an outpouring of grief within its pages from a time of great sorrow. Many hands shaped the words within and though there is warmth written amid the grief that is at least as beautiful as the book itself, he still does not often seek to read it.
Framed Poem: A short poem that has been penned neatly upon a scrap of parchment that has been framed sits within Eldarian's trunk. Its words are deeply personal, thus it remains for the knight's eyes only, but it is a token that has been kept within him since the day it was pressed into his hand.
Gypsy Love Potion: A bottle of sweet, red wine of extremely limited release is saved by Eldarian, vinted by Monty Hoffman of Hoffman Vineyards. Given as a favor during the White Mask Theatre's presentation of Gypsies, Tramps, & Greed some time ago, the paladin has nonetheless not indulged in the bottle yet.
Iridescent Rose: A favor given out at the festival of Greengrass by the Halls of Inner Light, the glimmering and preserved little trinket has served as a warm reminder of the renewing power of Spring, celebration, and the gift of numerous friendships upon the Coast.
Leather Pocket: A braided lock of copper red hair rests within a leather pocket that is drawn tight and tied securely. Given at a time when the Coast was awash in a tide of darkness and insecurity, Eldarian nevertheless has not parted with it even in times of relative peace.
Lute of the Morning Song: A lute is gently wrapped in protective fabric, though if seen uncovered it shows itself to be beautifully carved instrument, perfectly strung, and etched with ornate designs that have been burned into the wood. Though gifted by loving hands many years ago, the lute remains in practically untouched condition.
Masquerade Cruise Preferred Seat Ticket: A memento of a dazzling function upon the Twilight Rose is kept by the paladin, a tribute to an evening when joy could be shared among many friends and acquaintances in the midst of turbulent times.
Moon Glyphed Alabaster Bowl: A gorgeous alabaster bowl detailed with glyphs of the moon in her cycle was brought to the Song of the Morning to be used in the attempt of Eldarian's resurrection. Since his return to life, the knight has retained custody of the bowl, touched by the gift and the gesture that brought about its giving.
Mosaic: A mosaic comprised of jagged shards of a variety of metals - pieces of armor gathered from Thunderhammer's smith in Beregost - which depicts the image of Lathander's holy symbol is kept stored in Eldarian's belongings. Though the edges are left artistically rough, each piece of metal has been polished to a high sheen and catches the light when light may shine upon it. The creative work is one obviously crafted by one of the faith, but there is a deeper significance to the piece that perhaps only Eldarian knows.
Red Scarf: A feminine, red scarf is kept with Eldarian's things. It is a recent gift, given with enthusiasm, though not kept in a way that was likely intended by the one who gifted it. It now resides in the paladin's trunk among his other belongings.
Ribbon Wrapped Tome: A leather-bound tome which has been wrapped securely in a long length of red ribbon resides in the knight's collection of mementos. It appears that the book is unread, due to the crispness of the pages and the freshness of its leather covering, but also because the knots holding the ribbon in place seem as though they have never been untied. It is almost as though the contents of its pages are kept a deliberate mystery.
Sending Stone: An almost perfectly sphere shaped stone with a single rune etched into its surface can be found with the paladin's things. It might easily be mistaken as nothing more than its humble appearance, but despite that, and though it has seen little use of late, it still does boast of some enchantment.
Silver Wolf Brew: Given as a token at the first Sunite Auction held in Baldur's Gate, a bottle of spicy, red brew is kept carefully among Eldarian's things. It is yet untasted, perhaps due to the murmurs that it is a drink capable of felling even dwarves.
Sketch: Rolled securely so as to keep it well-preserved, a bust sketch of Eldarian himself is laid within his chest of belongings. The likeness has been depicted by a skilled and fond hand; it is due to this and the fact that such works please the paladin's Lord that the page is a keepsake worth having.
All credit given to Hidennka for the picture.

Stack of Scented Notes: A stack of notes inked on fine-grained paper that gives off a strong whiff of lilac perfume when handled is buried far and away in the paladin's belongings. With contents full of mystery, the existence of the notes serves as something of a admonition to Eldarian though he does not go out of his way in attempts to re-read them.
Sunstone A piece of sunstone is kept very well guarded and hidden from sight within Eldarian's trunk, this being one such stone among many that were found within certain Netherese ruins in the Anauroch some years ago. Though the sunlight does not touch it where it resides in the paladin's possessions, its power is still a palpable thing.
Sylvan Text: A textbook is included in Eldarian's collection of tomes, fashioned and handwritten by someone clearly intent on teaching the basics of the Sylvan language. Rudimentary guides to syntax and conjugation are thoughtfully expressed in the text, as well as organized and extensive lists of vocabulary that has been ordered by category. It seems that the book has been handled quite often, some of the pages dog-eared.
Tarnished Silver Coin: A tarnished silver coin of Amnian make, a tarran, is kept as a keepsake by Eldarian in memory of the defeat of Governess Isabella Benino. Confiscated from her desk on the night that she was apprehended for her crimes in Beregost, it is an item that has been safeguarded in a pocket of Eldarian's trunk since that fateful eve.
Timmy's Drawing: Though the artistry is clearly the work of a child's hand, a depiction of a fierce battle fought between gnolls, Eldarian, and a heroic young boy named Timmy over a bleeding form of what is labeled as Ameris keeps a place of honor among the paladin's things.
All credit given to Kleomenes for the picture.

Wolf Pelt: The pelt of a large wolf, the fur of it a thick, lush thing boasting the dark hues of charcoal and dusk, is something that Eldarian keeps carefully stored in his trunk. It is lined on the underside in matte satin of deepest crimson and appears to be in perfect condition; either rarely handled or preserved, perhaps, for some later purpose.
Eldarian Al'maire- Mental Hallmarks

MENTAL HALLMARKS:
Eldarian is the rather typical Lathanderite paladin. Duty and oath bound to the highest degree, he sets himself and his lofty goals in the image of his God. The strong-willed man is driven in fervor toward perfection at every angle of his life in order to please himself and his Lord.

Although Eldarian might come across rather imposing at times, he has a genuine heart and a compassionate nature. Oaths dictate the dawnknight to use truth and honesty at all times, even if it is to his disadvantage. He seems rather genuine in his words and actions and engages candidly with strangers and friends alike in an affable manner. Despite his courageous and kind nature, he is often at odds with Lathanderite vanity and Lathanderite pride; on the flipside, dogged eternal optimism is just as often pursued to some people’s exasperation thanks to the teachings of that very same faith. While Eldarian may come across as stern in some situations, his playful side emerges in friendly company once the tension leaves his shoulders.

Despite all he’s been though he remains lawful in character, takes his duty very sincerely and beneath his peaceful bearing he does not seem the kind of person one would desire to invoke the fury of. He fervently heartens and unites those around him over his desire to do good and banish evil. When in a position of leadership, his tone alters to dutiful and rigid; his actions turn attentive, unwavering and determined. This is, after all, something he has committed his life to; the on-going war in opposition to the land's most wicked.

There is both a fire and weariness that rests behind the paladin’s golden-flecked eyes. Though the man is young, that quiet weariness suggests that he has experienced much more in his short life than many others are forced to suffer. The number of trials the man has had to endure is both startling and heartbreaking but it has given him a wisdom and understanding beyond his years. The lessons learned in his time upon the Coast as well as the experience he has gained in the face of hardship have also cast the man's gaze with a note of hauntedness of late and touched his demeanor heavily.

On a more private level, Eldarian has an inclination to hide his troubles, burdens and a softer side from others. His positions of leadership from a young age have encased him in a barrier regarding his most intimate emotions and it is rare that he allows anyone to break through that barrier. More often than not he is called upon to be something else for others: a rock, the light, a leader, the hero. Instead of burdening others, he often finds himself alone in his despair and misery when his mask shatters in private. A single condemnation runs through his memories in these moments which have echoed with him for a long time:
They look to you, Eldarian.

Habits/Hobbies: Eldarian's habits are most perceptible in his manners and well-articulated patterns of speech. In general conversations he maintains a polite, formal attitude with the use of high titles unless asked otherwise; this also includes less-than-favorable company as oaths and formality dictate. Eldarian's daily routine sees him up before dawn but his duties change from day to day. Before the sun’s rays touch the sky, he uses this time to engage in a grueling training regimen developed by his own hand on his lonesome; other times he is seeing to the intricacies of the tangled webs in Court. After bathing thoroughly, he attends morning prayers, followed by a calming walk through a nearby pasture or road to regard the beauty of the dawn.

In his youth his hobbies were many. These days his hobbies are very rare, as he tends to thrust himself toward duty. This leads his moments of respite often left in a corner to be abandoned and forgotten. Though he does not have any notable hobbies to this day, aside from those that duty dictates, he finds a measure of simple satisfaction in watching the rise of the sun or a quiet ride on horseback.
Philosophy: "We are twice armed if we fight with faith."
Virtues: Charitable, Compassionate, Diligent, Hopeful, Patient, Kind, Merciful, Respectful, Truthful.
Vices: Envious, Prideful, Wrathful

LANGUAGES:
As a result of the education of his younger days, and the continuing attention he has put into such things, Eldarian possesses proficiency in quite a few different tongues. Perhaps to the surprise of some, Eldarian even has a few of the more exotic languages up his sleeve that he can either recognize and understand or speak fluently - though he rarely does so. He is happy with the effort he has put forth into learning each one.

Celestial: The paladin has naturally taken to the tongue of celestials since a young age while having learned it in the Spires of the Morning. When he speaks, the words sound beautiful, yet completely alien in nature. He talks in this language for important occasions and situations.
Chondathan: The regional language of Waterdeep along with Illuskan, Eldarian picked up on dialect at a young age. He speaks it quickly and easily though with a cadence of someone with higher station.
Elven (True Tongue): The knight has been speaking the eloquent tongue of the elves ever since being taught by a private elven tutor years ago. He's rather fluent and produces a musical sound when he speaks the words although he'll never quite live up to those who speak it for a native tongue.

RELIGION:
From an early age the paladin has dedicated his life to Lathander. Devout in the highest degree to the Lord of the Morning, Eldarian takes it upon himself to teach others of Lathander so that Light may ever increase. However, the paladin also understands the importance of keeping a healthy regard for the beliefs of others, not only out of courtesy, but also so that he may more deftly weave the goodness and Hope of his Lord into the lives of those who hold Eldarian in trust - or attempt to snatch others back from the jaws of darkness if they linger upon that precipice.

Eldarian's beloved Lord has held the paladin in the palm of his hands since he was a child. Not only has the paladin devoted his life to the duty of serving Lathander and living out his teachings, but Lathander has blessed the paladin again and again; has brought him from death to continue to be a beacon of Light and Hope to those around him, has been by his side in every fight against the powers of Darkness that he has come up against, has enabled Eldarian to defeat the grasping, lifeless fingers of evil that have tried to claw at him and bring him down at every turn. He unabashedly loves Lathander and holds the Morninglord dearer to his heart than anything else in his mortal life.

ADMIRED

ImageChauntea:

It is known that the clergies of Lathander and Chauntea are closely integrated with one another because of their common theme of life, and as such, Eldarian has a respect for the agrarian followers of the goddess and looks upon her teachings as salutary.

Image
Helm:

By and large, most of the followers of Helm that Eldarian has encountered have done their god justice in the paladin's eyes, proving themselves to be steadfast protectors and laudable representatives of the tenets of the Vigilant One in the mortal realm.

Image
Ilmater:

As the brother of a pain-bearer of Ilmater, Eldarian knows a deep and healthy respect for the Broken God and his good works. He has fought often for the aligned causes of his church and Ilmater's own, finding the Ilmateri that he has encountered to be strong and faithful comrades in the fight for good.

Image
Red Knight:

As the former Knight Commander of the militant arm of the Song of the Morning in Beregost, the Lady of Strategy is a deity whose doctrines of sound strategy and careful tactics were studied and implemented by Eldarian during this tenure. He also turned to them during his various times of leadership in the Undead War, and still to this day in his role as a Grand Knight of the Order of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary.

Image
Selûne:

As a goddess of Light in her own right that is thoroughly opposed to her sister, Shar, Selûne is a deity whom Eldarian appreciates and respects.

Image
Siamorphe:

As a result of his association with Scion Charisa Flomeigne, as well as his own ascension to the ranks of the Balduran nobility, Eldarian has begun to pay homage to the Divine Right - identifying heavily with the deity's dogmatic notion of noblesse oblige as it pertains to his own deep-seeded sense of duty.

Image
Silvanus:

The Oak Father is a god that is allied to his own, though they are somewhat disparate in general belief. Some of his followers have shown a readiness to share the faith with Eldarian, however, and he has given respectful homage to Silvanus by the guidance of these faithful as a result.

Image
Torm:

Duty, Loyalty, and Truth are all virtues that resonate deeply with Eldarian, thus he finds himself very often in alignment with the Loyal Fury.

Image
Tymora:

As Lady Luck shines upon those who take risks, Eldarian often feels the glow of her favor in his many duties and endeavors. He perhaps even feels as though some small touch of her divine hand has assisted him in surviving past the prime of many other paladins in the realms. It is for the sake of this possibility that Eldarian remembers to give Tymora his respects.

Image
Tyr:

Though Lathander is the god of forgiveness and Tyr the god of justice, Eldarian has developed a healthy respect for him and has been glad to work alongside his followers.

Image
Image
Waukeen:

As a mingling of the Golden Lady's teachings with those of Lathander, the paladin pays special attention to the beneficial use of wealth to improve civilization. Blessed with material wealth enough to be able to aid others in several significant charitable causes - including Reine Arlyson's training facility for soldiers of the war, the restoration efforts within Baldur's Gate itself after the war, as well as the care of various post-war refugees, Eldarian makes certain to offer prayers to Waukeen in thanks for her favor.

DISLIKED

ImageImage
Hoar:

Most of Eldarian's interactions with local followers of the god of Vengeance have been lackluster and even offputting at times. Though he has worked alongside a few of the god's followers, the impression made by these has caused Hoar as a deity to resonate unpleasantly with the paladin.

Image
Sune:

The flippant, vain and irresponsible nature of the goddess, which has oftentimes in his estimation been reflected in her followers, has led Eldarian to look upon Sune with bitterness. Firsthand experiences with more than one flighty, prideful Sunite has left Eldarian rubbed the wrong way and his regard for the one who represents Beauty and Love is, at best, a very chilly thing.

Image

DENOUNCED

ImageImage
Bane:

Eldarian rejects Bane for all the obvious reasons that a paladin of good ought to have, but also loathes the god for the fact that he was given as a sacrifice to Bane by some unknown individual for the Black Hand. Such firsthand experience with the zealotry of his followers has lent the paladin an abundance of fuel to see the god ultimately flouted.

Image
Bhaal:

Having fought a holdout of deranged cultists devoted to Bhaal and seeing the suffering felt by not only the victims of their vile blood magic, but also the suffering of some of the deceased victims' families, The Lord of Murder has become a god that Eldarian would also gladly see ground beneath the boot of goodness and Light.

Image
Malar:

The Beastlord's chaotic and evil nature, together with the fact that Eldarian was himself attacked by a rabid Malarite in recent months leaves the knight with nothing but derision for the deity and his followers.

Image
Shar:

Responsible for a years-long curse upon Eldarian, and due to her direct opposition to Lathander, Eldarian despises Shar. As the Darkness is his enemy, so too is the Lady of Loss; not only because of her direct impact upon him, but as a result of what Eldarian has seen her do to her followers. She is despicable to him; her very name is a curse upon his lips.

Image
Talona:

As a witness to the havoc wreaked by Magmire and the united sects of Talonites in recent years, Eldarian not only gave of his own sweat, blood, and strength to oppose the goddess in the past, but stands at the ready to do so again if ever a vestige of her followers rear their ugly heads.

Eldarian Al'maire- Profession

Posted: Sat Aug 29, 2015 11:01 pm
by Miasmata
PROFESSION:
Eldarian is a paladin of Lathander, a knight of significant standing within the faith. He has taken up many posts in the course of his career thus far, including such places as the Spires of the Morning in Waterdeep, the Song of the Morning in Beregost, and many an undisclosed battle station far afield. He has trained under the best and has likewise trained many others in martial skill and knightly habit. In combat, as in life, it is apparent that fear cannot touch the man; neither can disease harm him. It is because of these things that the knight is able to perform the strenuous requirements of his vocation, though there are a score of other talents that the knight holds claim over as well, which serve him in his other avenues of profession, nobility included.

Applicable Skills: Diplomacy, horsemanship, leadership, oration, political acumen, swordsmanship.

CODE OF LATHANDER:
Steeped in the necessary conviction required for a paladin of the faith and alight with religious fervor, Eldarian's vows are comprised not only of the oath to vanquish evil so that good may flourish, but also of obedience to Lathander's directives to build anew and rebuild what has fallen; to seek to make lands more productive and to cultivate new heights of civilization, to see peace abound through interracial harmony, cooperation, and progress, to foster creativity in all of its various forms, and to strive for the perfection that his Lord seeks of those who love him.
GOALS:
As a man of steely discipline and one who constantly strives for perfection, Eldarian is in the habit of setting specific goals for himself. Some goals, however, have been put before the knight to complete without his asking; though these he works just as diligently to conquer as any that have been chosen by his own hand.

Aaron Lyonaler

Hidden: show
As a fellow Lion of Pathfinder Hall with Eldarian, the paladin and the tactician have since additionally become brothers in arms when Aaron pledged himself to the Radiant Heart Auxiliary. Eldarian is gratified that someone he has such a long-standing history with has sought to join him in his new endeavors within the Order.

Adelaide van de Saer

Hidden: show
While her faith and some significant but overreaching past decisions made by the Sunite is a point of personal contention for Eldarian, the trust she nevertheless has placed in him, the warmth she has always displayed toward him - despite Eldarian’s leeriness toward her - along with the farewell letter she sent him before her former death has garnered Eldarian’s respect for the woman at the end of the day.

Aeili Azenci

Hidden: show
The Mystran had always been something of a fixture within the city of Baldur's Gate during Eldarian's time in Beregost and their association via mutual friends and similar causes - as well as her devotion to her faith, upright character and alliance with the Song of the Morning - is something that will echo on in the paladin's memory of the Coast.

Aeric

Hidden: show
Having worked with Aeric on numerous occasions both during his tenure as Knight Commander in Beregost and with the Radiant Heart Auxiliary in Baldur's Gate, Eldarian has grown to appreciate the studious man's dedication to whatever task is asked of him. His work ethic, attention to detail and zest for knowledge are things that Eldarian admires in Aeric but it is the Oghmanyte's willingness to always lend his aid to those in need that causes the paladin to value the man's friendship most.

Alesea Abbot

Hidden: show
The young priestess formerly known as Phaedre first arrived on the Coast in the town of Beregost, drawn to the Song of the Morning where Eldarian was serving as former Knight Commander.

The two became fast and close friends and in Vicar Neschera's absence he took the woman under his wing to teach her the faith that both held close to their hearts. They had their fair share of ups and downs but in the end he watched during the Undead War as she grew in power and character to become a commanding priestess.

Once the war was over Alesea drew her story to a close upon the Coast and sought to return to her hometown of Eveningstar. A framed sketch sits upon Eldarian's desk of two hands clutching a leather ball; a bittersweet memory of a time now passed.

Alexander Marshall

Hidden: show
Alexander's connection with Eldarian at first emerged as an unfortunate display of gossip that Alexander heard from embittered lips, which Alexander took liberties to echo without verification - without even proper introduction to Eldarian - and was only mended when a public apology was eventually made.

The Lathanderite's forgiveness was granted readily and with a hope for a new dawn. Following this however, some of Alexander's exploits found Eldarian called upon to come to the man's aid and then thanked very poorly for those efforts by both Alexander and his upstart squire. What warmth could have been sustained between the two men seems to have died in the wake of such events.

Alsarias Lythar

Hidden: show
An ally and friend from Doron Amar since Eldarian served in the Song of the Morning, the elf's kind, grandfatherly way resonates still in Eldarian's memory though they have not seen one another in some time. The paladin counts himself as blessed that he is one of the first people that the once-blind elf saw again after regaining his sight and remembers their rapport with fondness.

Althea Hartell

Hidden: show
Eldarian finds the young woman distasteful, a poor example of the vows she has made as a paladin to walk humbly and serve others.

Slander seemed to be the woman's weapon of choice in her quest to make other paladins fall - a quest that Eldarian considers absurd as well as a detriment to the righteous ideals she claimed to uphold - yet one that she pursued rabidly during a short tenure in leadership of the Radiant Heart that turned out to be beyond lackluster. Eldarian is thankful that such toxicity has since dissipated from the Order with Althea's exit from the Coast.

Amaranthe Ethne

Hidden: show
The druidess' association with Eldarian could be described much like the tide at sea; she drifts in and out of the paladin's life at whim much like the impulses of the Fey to which she has found herself bound.

Amaranthe and Eldarian fell into a love that spread between them like wildfire and burned hotly for a time. Too soon though duty would come between them and cool the embers of romance as the woman was called away for a time to serve her Lady elsewhere.

During her subsequent returns to the Coast there was a rocky patch that surfaced as they attempted to mend any wounds that needed to heal and later both agreed to move toward a warm friendship instead of attempting to repair what they once had. They have learned to work together flawlessly and feed endless knowledge to one another of their extremely different lifestyles and faiths.

Eldarian is gladdened by her presence and holds her in such high regard that she is entrusted with his most guarded secrets. He is grateful that she has chosen to name him Aahra and is certain that their strands of fate are woven together by some meaning yet unknown to him.

Ameris Santraeger

Hidden: show
While not necessarily related by blood Eldarian would find it remiss if he did not call Ameris a true brother. The priest of Ilmater has seen Eldarian at both his lowest and his highest points in life and has stood at the nobleman's side no matter his faults or mistakes. Ameris' wise counsel was often sought after by the paladin and rare was it that disagreements mingled between the two that they could not take in stride. The Ilmateri has had a large impact on Eldarian's perception of the realm and the character of the man he's grown into today.

He watched Ameris suffer and stumble through a few difficult years upon the Coast with love and faith and everything in between but very slowly saw the blossoming of a new man as the priest took on the vows of a husband and even further, had turned into a proud father.

Eldarian was troubled when Ameris, his wife and children fled the Coast to parts more hidden. As family, the Lathanderite has noticed their paths seem to branch further away from one another and although he has been taught boundless optimism, Eldarian knows that with each day the two grow more distant and faded within memory. A tinge of jealously swells within him knowing his brother lives a life he can never have and he secretly yearns for a time when things were simpler; where the bonds of brotherhood weren't so easily stretched by the time and distance that have begun to interfere and in the end will no doubt reign supreme.

Amizel Dulsaerna

Hidden: show
The bright, younger Lathanderite with the buoyant nature fell into Eldarian's acquaintance when she sought out a place within the Radiant Heart and pledged to be his squire. Though she is new to her oaths and cheerful to a fault, Eldarian nonetheless holds out hope that she will serve her chosen path - and the rigors that accompany it - well.

Annalena Denholm

Hidden: show
Though their friendship had been established in months past, it was a swift and easy thing characterized by much warmth. Dubbed "Little Muse" by Eldarian, the aspiring bardess composed songs that appealed to the Lathanderite's appreciation for creativity. Annalena also earned the paladin's earnest gratitude for her work in helping collect donations for his church as well as the way in which she stood up to others on his behalf when he was slighted by false and insulting tongues. Haunting strains of her melodies that once rang out so clearly still echo in his mind to this day.

Anthem Arnemeiger

Hidden: show
Eldarian inherited leadership of the Order of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary from Anthem under unexpected circumstances that were punctuated painfully by news of Anthem's demise soon after the mantle passed to him. During their brief acquaintance, Eldarian found much to question in the Ser Arnemeiger's zealous methods but also knew him to be ardent in his belief that he acted in the best interests of the realm. His desire for goodness to prevail was kindled high, a trait that Eldarian shares with the man who was his predecessor.

Arivain Fatesinger

Hidden: show
The bard is a new association, but one who has earned Eldarian's trust swiftly as they have teamed up to work together on a few important, current events. The man's humor and gift for story were very apparent to Eldarian from their first encounter, and the knight is pleased to witness the continuance of both as their endeavors together begin to take shape into something more solidly cooperative. He finds an easy rapport with the bard that is not often displayed to him by other people, which Eldarian perceives as a breath of fresh air.

Ashan Wayne

Hidden: show
The genasi's only claim to Eldarian's recollection is heavily tainted by mistrust and dislike. These sentiments were prompted by Ashan's questionable behavior including but not limited to the torture of prisoners and by the outright affront delivered to the paladin when Ashan erroneously demanded something of the knight before melting back into silence and abandoning the Coast. Like the earth Ashan hails from, his general memory and reputation have been eroded by the sands of time.

Berea Merriman

Hidden: show
Teasingly dubbed "Bee" by the knight, Eldarian found himself drawn to the red-headed, wild spirited woman after a few initial encounters through a mutual acquaintance.

When he first met her, the knight was still green with relationships, love and the general things surrounding it and his heart was still sore from a previous encounter. Despite this, the two took their time falling head over heels for one another and whispered promises were exchanged often between the pair as their love bloomed into something exquisitely rare and gentle. The mutual respect afforded, the affection and constant joy among them were like a never-ending well of the deepest waters. Both Berea and Eldarian grew as individuals during the time they spent together upon the Coast despite some heavy burdens that attempted to tear them apart.

However, like the gloom that begins to creep before the eventual dip of the sun, signs began to manifest that the love was not to last. Berea's obligation to her family in the north, as well as the call of Archdruidess to a grove where a suddenly deceased family member had cared for it previously drove her footsteps toward an old, towering tree in an open field of flowers and forever away from him. He has not seen nor heard from her since but is eternally hopeful the former promise he gave that his whispers of love upon the wind will find her always, long after she can no longer remember his face.

Brevin

Hidden: show
Eldarian's former squire while holding command of the Song of the Morning, though sometimes filled to excess with the blaze of righteous fury, also showed himself to be a loyal companion and a fit example of the youthfulness that Lathander promotes. Brevin often accompanied Eldarian into Waterdeep and other places abroad and he developed a genuine brotherhood with the younger man that will continue on far into the future. The former squire has since progressed into knighthood and Eldarian introduced him elsewhere to spread their faith to other regions.

Brilla Silvershield

Hidden: show
Brilla, a Lathanderite woman whose demise was brought about by another when Duke Entar's eye turned to her, existed for a time as a ghost in Baldur's Gate. Haunting songs and accidents that followed in her wake became markers of her ghostly presence and it was discovered eventually that Brilla's mother was responsible for the state of her daughter. Eventually, as the darkness of the situation was brought to an end, a priestess of Lathander along with Eldarian and a few others were able to joyfully Resurrect Brilla to true life again. Eldarian attempts to keep in contact with Brilla now, offering himself as an available resource for keeping strong in her faith while learning to adjust to the new role she has stepped into as the wife of a Duke of Baldur's Gate.

Catam D'Argente

Hidden: show
Mostly known to the knight through a few mutual acquaintances, Eldarian nevertheless knew that the flame of goodness burned bright in Catam's heart and could not help but recognize a kindred spirit in the half-elven man. Catam joined Eldarian and others in their quest to vanquish a powerful servant of Bhaal on the Moonshae Isles, and the paladin has never forgotten the ultimate sacrifice Catam made to save others on that fateful day.

Cecilia Lafayette

Hidden: show
The storybook of Eldarian and Cecilia is filled with chapters of boundless love and endless heartache.

The blonde beauty’s company was something the knight sought after and took quite easily to once they were made aware of each other. A quiet confession under the twinkling stars of the Lion’s Way led Cecilia to be the paladin’s first true love and for a time the two were utterly inseparable.

The two young knights would learn trials of love as the boy and girl grew to be a man and woman that waded through the hardships of the Coast. The couple would have their relationship tested time and again by jealous suitors, a supernatural sickness mingled with the murder of the Dawnknight and the kidnapping and torture of the woman Eldarian held dear.

Cecilia, later dubbed during their whirlwind romance by Eldarian as "My Light", is one of the very few women Eldarian has taken to meet his family and he still remembers talk of starting their own to this day with a certain fondness. The good times they shared never linger too far from his memory when her name arises and his heart swells with pride knowing that the woman’s conversion to Lathander was primarily due to his own influence.

Their tale never finished, however, as Cecilia could no longer endure the endless wickedness and treachery that targeted them both at every turn and instead she opted to move back to Cormyr and join the Purple Dragon Knights to lead a more fulfilling life under the grace of Lathander.

Eldarian has since learned that all stories must come to an end and so he has since closed and shelved the creative narrative that they once called their own.

Charisa Flomeigne

Hidden: show
Eldarian and Charisa keep to many of the same social circles via their connections to the Duchal court and Eldarian views Charisa as a resourceful ally and a fairly shrewd individual. However, it is her thoughtfulness in asking her patron deity, Siamorphe, for blessings on his behalf as well as her efforts to aid the Lady Brilla during her time of need that makes the nobleman consider Charisa an admirable woman.

Charraj Cain

Hidden: show
Wild whispers of Charraj's past within Baldur's Gate swirled about in Eldarian's understanding well before he would ever meet the man: the destruction of an entire building within the city's walls at Charraj's hands and his resulting exile. However, upon acquaintace with him when he returned to the region years later, after learning of his attempts to become a better Mystran with the Diviner Aeili, and his aid in the Undear War, Eldarian learned that the reputation that had built around Charraj's past was not reason enough to withold the spirit of Lathanderite forgiveness when the man eventually sought redemption in the eyes of the Dukes. Eldarian gladly gave testimony to the man's good character during the trial that saw Charraj pardoned.

Cosimo Delucca

Hidden: show
The devil-may-care mage and the paladin of Lathander started their association on tentative and rocky grounds due to a certain personal history, but have somehow surmounted such things and have come to something of an accord with one another. Cosimo has proven himself ultimately to be a valuable resource and wellspring of helpful information, although some of his more carefree antics spur Eldarian to shake his head and walk in the opposite direction.

Dawntreader

Hidden: show
Eldarian first met Dawntreader after he discovered his divine abilities in the name of Lathander. The paladin shares an empathic link with the warhorse in terms of communication and has been utterly loyal to him throughout his knighthood. The animal is somewhat spoiled and attention seeking but has created bonds of friendship with those close to Eldarian that are afforded a rare introduction. Dawntreader's coat gleams brilliantly in the sun as if there was some natural metallic sheen to the cream dilution and it makes the armored knight and horse look like a gleaming ray of sunlight when they ride forth together to tend to whatever tasks Lathander wills of them. For all that Dawntreader is high spirited, Eldarian knows that he will never lack for the steed's companionship and trust.

Desrah Asher

Hidden: show
Despite a misguided declaration of love for the paladin that culminated in some awkward private moments, several attempts to compel affection by seeking his help with certain personal matters and a fierce desperation to draw the goodly into her life by desire that he become the godfather of her future children, Eldarian still finds in himself a reserve of sympathy for Desrah - knowing something of her motivation to overcome the deep darkness of her past. Though she met her fair share of pitfalls in this endeavor he holds out hope that she will someday find peace and redemption far away from the clutches of the Sword Coast.

Eleanore Valo

Hidden: show
Eleanore's presence within the Song of the Morning provided a sense of home and warmth that Eldarian remembers well. Though much time has passed since seeing the woman, he still recalls the hospitality she could so easily summon for those who visited the temple, her skill at making baked goods, the delicate sensibilities that characterized her actions and the shameless flirtation with the former Knight Commander that spanned the course of his years there.

Elvina Aira-S'effaro

Hidden: show
The Knight Commander of the Order of the Silver Rose has been a consistent ally for as long as Eldarian has interacted with her and her Order; through war and plague and many of the various conflicts of the Coast. She is a leader with a devoted following and is always willing to lend a hand to the work of Good to which Eldarian is grateful.

Elyssa Symbaern

Hidden: show
Elyssa's fondness for Eldarian has been made apparent to him through her behavior towards the paladin and he returns that kind regard in a way that speaks to the level of friendship that has developed between them; sharing deep conversations and mutual reassurance for one another in their respective roles of leadership. The paladin considers the elven woman a close friend though of late their paths seem to be diverging as she sequesters in the village of Doron Amar and he within the large city of Baldur's Gate.

Ember Parel

Hidden: show
The Heartwarder of Sune was ultimately considered an alluring vexation to Eldarian - one he might have been better friends with in the end had it not been for the constant wiles upon the paladin. Despite being the object of her wit and games from the start of their acquaintance, Eldarian attempted to maintain cautious boundaries between himself and the charismatic blonde who insisted on brushing past any such things as though they were nonexistent. The end results of her attention on him in the name of her faith set his jaw against Sunites and what they preach, even more so than previous to her acquaintance.

Endelyon Castillo

Hidden: show
Eldarian and Endelyon's associations have been a mix between light and dark. Light, where they share an ongoing, private joke between the two of them about a promised lobster dinner and where he is grateful to her for her writing the ballad of the Hero of Beregost in his honor to commemorate the coup he lead against the corrupt government of Beregost. In addition, he also finds the woman to be an easy, friendly sort of person despite her considerable talents and appreciates the creativity she exudes as only a Lathanderite can. Dark befell the association though; certain quiet revelations by the woman, as well as the company she ultimately chose to tie herself to, leads the paladin to look back on their interactions under a gloomy cloud of regret.

Erza Aldren

Hidden: show
The noblewoman has been known to Eldarian for some time during which the woman's casual flirtation built up to a forward interest in progressing their friendship when she surprised the man by asking him out romantically; the polite decline did little to spoil the friendship that they had spun for years previous and Eldarian was more than thankful for that. It was due to Erza that Eldarian participated in the first ever Sunite auction on the Coast, fetching a large sum of gold for the church of Sune. He watched as she founded the Halls of Inner Light and rose to nobility - though also watched and attempted to help her through various trials and hardships, too. He rarely sees her these days but hopes that Lathander shines his light upon her future endeavors.

Grendunor Silvereye

Hidden: show
Grendunor is hardy dwarf that has come to be a kindly grandfather figure to Eldarian, constantly seeking to see him fed, married, producing "beardlings," or trying to press a keg of ale into the paladin's hands. He finds the man's presence a warm and welcome thing when it is offered, and sees in the dwarf a great capacity for care toward those he seems to have "adopted." Besides this, though, Eldarian can easily see the strength that characterizes his race within the man in spades - as well as a certain tenacity toward seeing good prevail.

Ivan

Hidden: show
The bearded druid is someone Eldarian considered a friend and ally while the man still roamed the region, and one that the paladin owes a hardy thanks for providing an introduction to his apprentice. It might also be that Ivan gave Eldarian some inspiration in terms of cultivating facial hair, so humor and gratitude for that also weaves itself into the memory of the man though distance has dulled it somewhat of late. Wherever the Silvanite has wandered these days with his wife Julindra, Eldarian hopes the couple escaped from drowning in the Coast's hardships.

Jaspen McGee

Hidden: show
If nothing else, Jaspen McGee has at least always been a true and stout-hearted citizen of Beregost - a local fixture, even - however much Eldarian might like to chastise him for the countless times he's witnessed the man lose track of his maniacal badger during the knight's years spent in Beregost. Lately, he has volunteered Eldarian as something of a second-half guardian to the animal.

Jassin Rhaevaern

Hidden: show
The old grump of an elf is someone Eldarian appreciates for his bluntness and while he has learned that the man does not offer many words, when he does speak they are of import. One phrase spoken by the hooded man upon a hill overlooking the town of Beregost a very long time ago still echoes with the paladin to this day.

The knight has allied with Jassin in the past on certain matters that were called to his attention and he is certain despite the grunts of retirement that are uttered that if a true call were sounded, the man would be at his side.

Juno Serra

Hidden: show
Having been more recently brought into interaction with Juno, Eldarian first approached the association with a heightened wariness based on previous encounters with members of her faith, and also due to some small sparks of conflict between the knights since she has joined the denizens of the Coast. To her credit the Sunite has shown herself as a level headed woman who has not displayed the same kind of reckless, bold nature or force and as a result, such conflict seems to have come to a close. Eldarian is now glad that the alliance between the Halls of Inner Light and the Radiant Heart has been renewed with her rise to High Lady.

Kahanak Habdilof

Hidden: show
Forgiveness of the man who masqueraded as a sailor for so long before the revelation of his loyalty to Thay became public knowledge was a challenge to achieve, but Eldarian has done so - even if the forgiveness was for a crime as heinous as the cowardly and cold-blooded murder of Eldarian at the hands of the Khazark. He was found guilty in the eyes of the righteous and Kahanak's random pleads of insanity and possession during the bloody slaughter were all but laughable; yet he walked away unharmed and untouched due to hiding behind political intrigues in the region. Though he has granted Lathander's own forgiveness, the paladin has never forgotten the injustice and treachery of the man who targeted him so many years ago.

Kayden Ironheart

Kayden's energy and upbeat attitude toward his Templar duties within the Song of the Morning always proved helpful to Eldarian while he was Knight Commander there, and a boon to general morale within the ranks of the knights. Kelddath Ormlyr

Hidden: show
The Most Radiant of the Song of the Morning has been a tantamount father figure for Eldarian since his arrival upon the Sword Coast from the Spires of the Morning in Waterdeep. The high priest's guidance has been instrumental in Eldarian's growth in faith and it is he who has been a pillar of light in dark places, an example of quiet strength and fortitude, while still supporting the ousting of oppressive evil in Beregost. Kelddath has cultivated Eldarian's ascent within the church by blessing him with his trust, and the mutual respect shared between the two men is a strong and warm bond that Eldarian places high value upon.

Kellan Armstrong

Hidden: show
The Lathanderite monk's tread has taken him away from the Sword Coast but those times that he used to be a part of the Song of the Morning in Beregost are times that Eldarian is glad to think back on. Laitae La'freth

The Great Reader of Candlekeep and the Lord of Baldur's Gate in the past kept to the same general social circles. In spite of this, the knight and scholar never grew particularly close to name their rare encounters a friendship and instead focused upon mutual interests and allying together for a professional cause. The distant but amicable relations they hold is probably all it will ever be.

Lathander

Hidden: show
It is as though Lathander has always been a part of Eldarian's life, even from the earliest of his days. He was all but brought up within the halls of the Spires of the Morning, which doubtless attributed to this feeling. Blessed by Lathander and chosen for His work, Eldarian can do no other than to spread his Lord's Light to all that he meets and kindle it in his own heart afresh every morning, especially after the physical manifestation of Lathander's favor came down upon him in death; after Lathander himself raised Eldarian to life again for continued service to Him. The paladin devotes his life to the Morninglord and His teachings fiercely, the love that he has for his God born in blossoming days of youth and strengthened by the knowledge that Lathander is pleased with him.

Lelande Lloros

Hidden: show
Lelande was first contracted through the temple in Beregost as a bodyguard for a priestess under Eldarian's wing. During that time, the man proved his worth in the role on a number of occasions. So much so that Eldarian had cause to call upon him in several other capacities throughout the last few years and a rapport, such as one could be had with a man so guarded and silent, was formed. The last time Eldarian conversed with Lelande the conversation had been on a tense disturbing subject and the knight now wonders if something ill has befallen the Helmite that he knew for so long.

Linetheil

The Seer was someone that Eldarian was particularly wary of in their first interactions and given his knowledge of other spirit dabblers in the past, he quickly made it known that he was aware of her otherworldly gifts.

The two began to strike up a mutual respect for one another after a few soul searching conversations and Eldarian grew fond of the dove companion that the shaman had rescued which was often in their company. Silence quickly stifled their interactions as the paladin left the Sword Coast for a time. Upon his recent return he's not seen hide nor hair of the amethyst eyed woman or her cooing companion.

Lord Kander Rast

Hidden: show
Though linked to Lord Al'maire as a fellow peer of Balduran nobility, Lord Rast is also known to Eldarian by way of his late brother's membership in the Order of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary to which his brother sacrificed of himself in the line of duty. However, the recent, closer association between the two noblemen arises due to discreet circumstances that had put Lord Rast's well-being in jeopardy. It is also due to these curious matters that Lord Rast has placed himself in Eldarian's debt.

Lord Luke Darius

Hidden: show
The noble has been a steadfast friend to Eldarian since before either had risen up in rank. Though there were numerous differences in their personalities and codes of conduct from early on, the two men still got along easily. What impresses Eldarian even more is the bard's flair of building up a friend rather than tearing them down; especially because of the ballad Luke composed to honor Eldarian's achievements as a paladin of Lathander.

This camaraderie has grown even more so now that they are peers in the same circles of influence. It doesn't surprise Eldarian at all that Luke has made such a name for himself in Baldur's Gate given what he knows of the man's talent and keen business intellect. He surmises that they both will be seeing one another often in the future.

Lysander Asperan

Hidden: show
The once-Dame Sveta Asperan is someone that Eldarian has been comrade in arms with during several significant threats upon the Sword Coast. Their relationship has been somewhat odd and rocky at points, this influenced a bit by Dame Sveta's quiet proposal she offered to the paladin and also because of a long, prideful streak in her nature. However, she has also placed her trust and confided in the paladin and Eldarian heralded the birth of this masculine version of the woman he knew as a new dawn for their acquaintance.

It's been a long while since Eldarian has seen Lysander, but he trusts that the Watchknight is tending his duty in Nashkel or beyond and hopes that his continued path of self-discovery results in a happiness he was unable to achieve under his former shadow.

Marianne Cain

Hidden: show
Within Marianne resides the kind of youthfulness that Lathander smiles on and the energy that serves a devotee of Ilmater well in their particular work. Her former overtures toward his health and well being were once a boon to Eldarian, until the nature of her youthfulness sought attention elsewhere. Despite this, he is nonetheless pleased another Ilmateri is able to work alongside him when circumstances require.

Melancthon

Hidden: show
The bronze dragon stoutly named Melancthonixtarg and the Lathanderite knight have become fast friends in the little time that they've grown to know one another. Eldarian has been gifted one of the dragon's scales as a show of trust between them and a ready outward frill is always used to greet the man in a cheerful display. Eldarian still boggles at the near effortless shape changing abilities the creature demonstrates and he is grateful that the dragon is willing to aid him in tasks that is fitting of his kind.

Michael Dunn

Hidden: show
The inconsistent character of Michael Dunn has, more than anything else, been a deep and persistent splinter in Eldarian's existence from the beginning of their association. His ease with manipulation, deceit, and long-running slander have been a personal exercise in forbearance for the paladin. The knowledge of the man's actual allegiance to things of a darker nature, his adultery, and his numerous unsavory associations filled Eldarian with disgust - but slightly to his credit before Michael disappeared from the Coast with Tess Abelton, he asked for a truce as the devils in Dragonspear seemed a threat to them both. While this does not mend any of the man's shortfalls, it does at least prove that he has some sense after all.

Myhun Kren

Hidden: show
As basically a father-- or perhaps grandfather figure to Eldarian, the crusty, oftentimes inappropriate old coot at a glance seems very mismatched to the paladin's personality and youth. Numerous jokes at Eldarian's expense sing out in Myhun's heavily accented Common when they are together yet a deeper look at their interplay betrays the fondness that exists between the two men, stretching back for many years before their respective ascensions to Grand Knight of the Radiant Heart and Captain of the Flaming Fist.

Natali Athiel

Hidden: show
The young Tormtar became known to Eldarian when the responsibility of her squiring passed into his hands from the late Anthem Arnemeiger. Finding her to be adequately dutiful, if sometimes possessed of a peculiarly rebellious attitude toward Lathanderite optimism, Eldarian is certain she will prove to be a proud testament to the ideals of paladinhood.

Nathan Goldenmane

Hidden: show
Nathan is a new contact in Eldarian's sphere of connections and is the one Sunite that doesn't immediately set the paladin on edge. Ever since Nathan sought Eldarian out to involve him in a number of important matters that he has been dealing with, the paladin knew that Nathan was somebody with the best interests of the realm at heart. Eldarian also considers him someone he can trust and looks forward to their continued collaboration.

Nëa

Hidden: show
Nicknamed "The Dancer" or "Little Shadow" for her talents in art and stealth, she was first introduced to Eldarian in a time long past. His memories of her are drowned in nostalgia both from the songs she would sing, to the plays she would write and beyond. Her unique perception garnered Eldarian's respect more oft than not and he believes her fond farewell, "May you be a light in the darkness", resonated loudly as she illustrated how to be one herself. What used to be a recurring familiar face about the Coast has now turned into just another poignant memory.

Neschera

Hidden: show
Former Vicar Neschera is a figure who has gone long unseen by Eldarian, though he once counted her among his closest and dearest friends.

The priestess was always willing to lend her counsel to his troubles during his time as Knight Commander of the Song of the Morning and Eldarian found her company a warm and welcoming thing up until she began to slip away from herself in the wake of a fateful dance with undeath that claimed her vitality for a time.

Following these events, the friend he cherished defied his own counsel regarding military action during the Undead War that would foolishly risk herself and others in her stubbornness. While the rest of the Song of the Morning retreated from the Vicar's plan, Neschera pushed forward with it that much more. She left with nary a word, carrying a good amount of the temple's store of coin and gems with her. He dreads the worst since he has not heard from her after several years of silence and an aching regret fills his breast when he thinks back on the last words in which they parted.

The knight with the frosty disposition is someone that Eldarian rarely interacted with until recently. The curious elven woman was something of a quirky personality to most, though displayed a level of care for Eldarian's well-being and the cultivation of friendship between themselves and their respective organizations that he appreciated much. Osric Vale

Hidden: show
Sensing the common threads between himself and Osric in the way of background and shared stances on certain beliefs, Eldarian has come to view the man in a kind way that borders, perhaps, on kindred. Their pathways have met and crossed on numerous occasions, weaving a pattern of goals that were in alliance with one another even before friendship could be properly established. Now that they have attained a friendly relationship, Eldarian finds himself confident to give his trust to Osric and determined to aid the man in his current trials as a friend and ally, as well as a duty-bound paladin.

Radger

Hidden: show
The misbehaving badger not only ruffles Eldarian's sense of order with each new, random place that he shows up, but also the paladin's sense of law in that he constantly slips his poor owner's keeping. Long considered a general nuisance by Eldarian, he was pleased to create distance with the creature upon his move to Baldur's Gate.

Rai Kuu Kynttila

Hidden: show
Usually little more than a mocking voice from the shadows, Rai has always seemed at best to be an insulting nuisance and at worst an irreverent troublemaker where her interaction with Eldarian has been concerned.

The latter seems to be more common as time goes on and Eldarian struggles in coming to a place of forgiveness specifically with the elf's unrepentant casting of Darkness during a holy ceremony inside the sanctuary of the Song of the Morning to which she was later banned as well as the whispers of her ongoing connections to the Zhentarim. In trying to shed the most positive light on her person, Eldarian can conclude that she is capable of being helpful on her own whim or if the terms are right.

Rania Arowaven

Hidden: show
Rania is counted among Eldarian's allies and he has a great deal of respect for the now Acolyte of Candlekeep as well as friendly regard for her well being. Eldarian helped to console her when a mutual friend died and stepped in to pull her out of harm's way the night a scuffle started outside the Halls of Inner Light; and she has sought him out for aid on many occasions. Eldarian admires how Rania attempts to act justly and do the right thing in every situation - including her dissipation of the ban on members of the Radiant Heart within the Halls of Inner Light during her tenure there - for which he is very appreciative.

Reine Arlynson

Hidden: show
Reine, "The Mopknight", was a somewhat vexing personality for Eldarian given her foul mouth and lack of manners but during the Undead Wars he grew to respect the rugged woman's blunt attitude and demeanor. He was the first to donate a large sum of gold to her cause in the belief that she should have a chance to make something of herself and his warmth toward her only deepened when she remained humbled and good despite her growing power. Soon after the war came to an end she quietly resigned from her post and faded from the region.

Rellon Ayloset

Though Rellon has only recently broken free of the chains of a difficult past, Eldarian sees the rays of a new dawn beginning to radiate within the Illuskan man. The paladin and the mage have often of late found themselves working toward the same goals and taking part in the assistance of a few mutual friends, during which times Eldarian has seen Rellon's protective nature and capabilities to good effect. Though of thoroughly different backgrounds, they still seem to work easily together.

Rilae'ar'an

Hidden: show
Free and spirited, the priestess Rilae'ar'an never hesitated to impart various bits wisdom and easy flirtation in equal measure in her dealings. The woman's aid to Eldarian and to the Song of the Morning during the Undead War - including the sacrifice of herself in the Reaching Wood and her sharing of a potent artifact with the temple - especially prompts the paladin to regard her with gratitude, though it has been some time since he has seen her at all.

Rose Valexe

Hidden: show
Eldarian was quite charmed by Rose when they first met at an autumn festival held by the Song of the Morning.

A conversation was struck up after she gave a memorable performance and an interest quickly flared up between red haired bardess and paladin. The two got to know each other further and traded flirtation up to a point in which Eldarian eventually confronted Rose, though it was quickly made evident to him that the bardess intended to give the public impression that she was single for the sake of garnering more fame and advancing her career. It was at this point that the paladin bowed out of the flirtation, which incited anger in the woman and spurred a rash of derogatory rumors about him in retaliation.

It seems that what started as something sweet and harmonious song between the two would end on a sour note of discord that would play in memory for long after their last meeting.

Selengil Harkonis

Hidden: show
The Dreadlord of Darkhold's tragic story is known to Eldarian and the paladin has watched as the elf was drawn from place to place leaving a path of distortion in his wake before settling into the ranks of the Zhentarim and flourishing in the darkness there to ascend to leadership. Eldarian finds an interesting appeal in despising the man; quietly relishing in the loathe of this enemy for he knows that Selengil is crafty and persuasive and not to be taken lightly as an opponent.

Sheriff de Oca

Though the Sheriff of Beregost enjoys ribbing Eldarian for all of the time he spends among non-Amnian "barbarians," the man has earned Eldarian's respect for the part he played in helping remove Governess Benino from her position of power in Beregost. There is a "platinum" degree of goodwill and esteem held for one another by both men as their working relationship has continued to develop and Eldarian has come to consider the sheriff a true friend.

Hidden: show
The Chaplain of the Radiant Heart was introduced to Eldarian when the paladin's duties most recently returned him to Baldur's Gate. The Tormtar monk, though often attending to private matters of faith of late, played a helpful role in seeing Eldarian situated within the Order. For this and for Brother Simon's usually sound wisdom when called for, Eldarian is grateful.

Siveyn Silverarrow

Eldarian considers Siveyn a most trustworthy ally with an impressive store of years and experience at his back. The ranger's manner is often blunt, though not lacking humor and the paladin appreciates such straightforwardness in their interaction. Eldarian was especially glad that the elf sought him out to deal with a specific, troubling matter regarding the destruction of a certain artifact some time back and looks forward to the ongoing collaboration with Siveyn that has begun to unfold in recent days.

The knight of the Radiant Heart was someone that Eldarian was just getting to know as a fellow Lathanderite when her untimely demise in the Fields of the Dead while on duty ripped their potential friendship away in the blink of an eye. Eldarian feels some regret for not being there to stop it and has since written her name and deeds in a book of honors with the other fallen knights of the Radiant Heart. Seeing the life snuffed out of a knight so young and full of potential only strengthens Eldarian's perception that the Coast is not only a harsh but ultimately cruel place.

Tarina Mazir

Hidden: show
As two disparate entities from opposite backgrounds, the witch and the knight danced around one another for a long time after first meeting within Pathfinder's Hall.

While their relationship was slightly colored by her jealousy and his wariness; while they never were in accordance on matters of belief and still hold starkly different opinions to this day, the two somehow became stout allies and loyal friends.

It wasn't until the brink of Tarina's leaving the Coast, when the couple were free of obligation, did their odd relationship take an explorative turn and deepen. Tarina, now heralded in the wake of this short-lived crashing together as "lovebird" by the knight, then fluttered away from the cage that was the Sword Coast.

Telia Santraeger

Hidden: show
Eldarian feels that the Mystran sorceress is a prime example of someone who can turn from the darkness to bask in the light of a new dawn.

At first their introductions were wary and tense as the ex Zhentarim was made known to him via his brother Ameris but he watched as the woman flourished from a suspicious and unsure figure to someone that garnered admiration and respect. Slowly their own familial bond blossomed during this time and Eldarian has come to trust the woman without hesitancy and refer to her as sister. The paladin is appreciative of the woman's quick wit and motherly instincts and he will never forget the private conversation between them in the northern farmlands one quiet night that demonstrated just how much she was willing to sacrifice in order to help him.

Their interactions have come full circle though as Telia fled with Ameris to another region and the close bond that they had begun to share is slowly diminishing with time.

Teris Ynaro

Hidden: show
The genasi is someone who has gone through amazing transformations in the time that Eldarian has known him, from ranting lunatic to a man much more healed and calmed than anyone thought possible. He has known Teris for years but has only recently supposed that he might actually get to know him in any real way. Some time ago, Teris gifted Eldarian with a hand carved wooden lion. The paladin has taken this to be an overture of friendship, even when it seemed like Teris was more inclined to set him on fire or overwhelm him with riddles.

Terri Xon

Hidden: show
Over the course of Eldarian's years on the Coast, it seems that Terri has repeatedly sought his aid in numerous avenues against the forces of evil. He appreciates this vote of confidence, especially as the woman and her Company seem to come into contact with some of the most vile things that that Coast has to offer and he has found himself charging the hells with them on more than one occasion. Theirs is a friendly rapport and they have often found themselves sitting at the same table in council with others to attempt to bring about an end to the Coast's troubles.

Thalantyr

Hidden: show
The wizard of High Hedge stood steadfast with Eldarian in previous years against the corrupted Governess Benino, which the knight will not soon forget. He considers the eccentric mage a good neighbor and a worthy friend in spite of some of the magical hijinks he has witnessed at Thalantyr's hand. Visits are rare, but Eldarian is genuinely glad for any reason there might be to cross the wizard's threshold and spend time with him.

Thedran Asen

Hidden: show
An acquaintance of several years has marked the relationship between Eldarian and the historian bard, though it had not been a close one until more recent days when the paladin took up the mantle of leadership within the Radiant Heart Auxiliary. Eldarian sees in Thedran a worthy man and formidable ally, one that he is glad to include among his circle of trusted friends.

Thomas Marlowe

Hidden: show
One of Eldarian's oldest connections is Thomas, the priest of Lathander who partnered with the paladin to bring their service to the Song of the Morning. Thomas' unique quirks gave those within the temple a reason to grin, though the man's pet pig was a dedicated nuisance where Eldarian was concerned. Thomas was summoned away to the call of another church soon after they two had gotten settled into life in Beregost. He has not been seen nor heard from since then, though Eldarian hopes that his cheerful old friend is doing well, wherever he may be.

Tolan Faeglin

Hidden: show
The priest of Lathander was someone Eldarian struggled to find a brotherhood despite their year of service together. The general lack of respect for the Knight Commander's authority, Tolan's jealousy over Cecilia's choice of a lover and other things always kept the men at arm's length.

Eventually, Tolan's tragic past and sinister backgrounds slowly began to manifest around him and he was slain during a dark ritual in the abandoned temple just north of Beregost. Regardless, Lathander's forgiveness and favor was granted and the man was able to break from the chains that were binding him and rise from his ashes to become a better man. Tolan slowly grew more distant after, meaning to start his own shrine in the city of Baldur's Gate and rare was it that the priest and knight interacted. A peaceful goodbye was offered by Tolan one sunrise near the Song of the Morning in Beregost and the two have not been in contact since.

Eldarian has heard trickles of rumors that the priest now lives a quiet, simple life completely removed from the Coast with a wife and children of his own. Eldarian's promise to Tolan of continuing his project regarding a Lathanderite shrine in Baldur's Gate is something bittersweet for the paladin but he means to keep his word and will see it done.

Vendor Xon

Hidden: show
The half-elven ranger of Mielikki seems to be a constant presence upon the Coast; his existence as a fixture of the region seems to be as pleasant as his personality. Knowing him through their many mutual friends as well as through their joint membership in Pathfinder Hall, Eldarian finds Vendor to be a good, earnest man; one whose kind nature resonates easily with most anyone Vendor seems to come in contact with. Eldarian was pleased to be invited and witness the man's marriage to Terri which no doubt started a new chapter for the both of them. The paladin values the man's abilities as a scout and is grateful for Vendor to work alongside him without question when the need arises; knowing, perhaps better than many, that despite his easy exterior he is not one to underestimate.

Wai Li

Hidden: show
Eldarian first met the dutiful Helmite in the small village of Nashkel that nestles along the Cloudpeaks. He has found the woman to have a steady head on her shoulders and notes she remains calm even in the most volatile situations. The paladin has always been thankful for the sound wisdom she has been able to supply to those under her watch and the patrols that were scheduled along the Coast. He has not uttered the woman's name in some time and long has it been since he's noted her presence in the area but he wishes her all the best in her future endeavors wherever they take her.
