The Last Anchor RP Thread

Rania enters late in the night hours, eyes shining with an odd silver light and almost taking the door off its hinges in her hurry to get inside. She makes her way straight over to John behind the bar, asking to speak to the Ranloss' immediately, as it's urgent so does so with as little time wasted.

They would both find Lannia and Derik there. Lannia seems to have a certain pep in her step, but those that know her best would sense the saddness in her eyes. ((responded to Chat will respond to PM))

When Rania clamors into the inn, the Shamaness is cought off-gaurd, a handful of black cherries in her hands.

A large, heavily armed group led by Mistress Ranloss is seen heading out of the Anchor in the late afternoon and returns in the evening.

They return with two others, one unconscious. It's not clear exactly what happened, but rumors fly around something about brothers, memories, and people wanting to kill other people.

A letter is then sent to the Temple of Mystra and to the Halls.

Oddly enough, on this expedition, Mister Ranloss was nowhere to be seen. This is odd because the husband and wife proprietors of the Anchor almost always adventure together when the go out.

Instead, Mister Ranloss was noted as having departed separately on what would appear to be a completely different errand...

A response from the Moonlady of the Halls of Inner Light would be sent in return to her own letter, along with a basket of medicinal teas and herbs, all designed to promote relaxation and restful slumber.

The party that had gathered with Mister Ranloss, consisting of some of his closest companions, returned mostly unscathed some time after Mistress Ranloss' party did, the morning after her expedition's aftermath and dispersal.

The group that returned seemed in high spirits despite a couple having some beat up and bloodied armor.

After a light chat, the group dispersed and Mr. Ranloss disappeared downstairs...

The is buzz about the workers and guests of the Last Anchor that proprietors are starting to put together something for the festival of Greengrass later this month...

Later in the day Ronja wanders through the door at the Anchor and walks up to the proprietors to exchange a few words, before tacking a poster up inside of their establishment for customers to see.

21 Tarsakh 1354

Yet another night Ronja is seen guarding outside of the Anchor up until sunrise. The night passes with her casually playing with a deck of cards and greeting any passerby's. She invites anyone passing to join her in a game of Lords & Levies.

In the small cemetery that residents of Ulgoth's Beard use, there is a small ceremony as a man is buried. The proprietors of the Last Anchor and some of the staff are among the few who attend and it is would appear the Ranlosses paid for the site, the casket, and an elaborate headstone for the deceased. It is also spoken by the locals that this was a man that spent several days at the Anchor being cared for, apparently very ill.

The headstone reads:

A man known only as Don.
His last act was to try to protect that which was important to him.
We don't know where he came from, or who else may mourn him. It is hoped both they and he find peace.
In the end, all that matters is this:

He was our family.

He was our hero.

May it always be known as thus.

Anyone entering the Anchor during the day of the 29th of Tarsakh, will notice preparations taking place throughout the inn. A menu is tacked up next to the door of the kitchen and fresh spring flowers are situatied about the inn in vases.

Baskets with cones of flower petals are left by the door. A mixture of white tulip flower petals, pink rose petals and crocus petals are gathered in white doily cones in the basket for guests to take freely, and to either wear them or spread them on the ground to encourage the deities to usher in the summer.

The time inches closer for Greengrass to be celebrated later on the day!

Food is beeing cooked and drinks are ready. Baskets of flowers are carried by. Also first sounds of a harp can be heard. The bards seemingly are also preparing for the Greengrass event. Everyone is welcome to take part and great the spring.

A day or so after the Greengrass party, a thank you letter would arrive from Malign Ashmeddai.

Although I only saw Derik during the party, I must thank ye both. I enjoyed the celebration. It has been a long time since I have been able to relax in such a fashion. Thy inn is quite charming, and the company of thy guests equally as charming. It is good to be able to see, and partake in, such a carefree spirit amongst this Coast, despite all the troubles plaguing it currently.

Word easily travels from the Anchor after the Greengrass party. The party seemed to be a smashing success with a large number of people in attendance, at least three bards playing songs, a fair amount of dancing... and something about a pebble-throwing war in which a crazy-fast Rashemi was the ultimate victor.

The proprietors were seen leaving the Anchor after the guest had departed and the moved furniture was replaced. They took a ferry to the Gate and then were seen returning a couple hours later before retiring for the evening
