Early hours of the morning, group of wanderers are seen making the long trek towards Beregots. Just South of the village, they are attacked by a group of pillaging Goblins. The efforts of the party - rumoured to have consisted at least of a few paladins, a bardess, a grey-clad woman and a traveler in blue hood - quickly see the raiding party extinguished, though not without injuries.

The loot, found to be contained in chests hidden off-the road, are deemed to be stolen lood and therefore taken back to Beregost. The party is seen entering the Temple of Lathander, save for the blue-hooded traveller, who lingers outside: the goods are then left to the care of the Temple, so that the rightful owners may be found.

Two of the large party who entered Beregost on the day of the 18th - a young Balduran boasting to be of the Caldwell patriar and an inconspicuous grey robed wanderess - shared meat and fruits together at the fire of Feldpost's Inn. The dinner meeting turned to solemnity and vows, with much deference to the fair lady by the Crusader of Siamorphe who ended knelt before her, head bowed.

Gossip might flourish among some of the more romantic (or bored) common folk and the young girls of Beregost who witnessed it, that the 'Grey Lady' with the Paladin was perhaps a noblewoman - even a runaway princess - traveling in 'peasantry disguise' with her knight.

By sunset, the young man had withdrawn from the Inn to the Church of Lathander in order to spend his night in the holy light. The next day he would set out on return to Baldur's Gate alone, riding alongside an ox-drawn wagon hauling a crate of fine Elturian cheese.

Dawnbringer Tashia Galey has been seen visiting the church of Lathander within Beregost with more frequency of late. Word spreads she is working with the church to set up a confirmation of faith ceremony for Evelyn. All are welcome to come to the church to witness and celebrate the event with her which shall be in just a few days.

Meanwhile, and in the dead of night on Mirtul 24, any who were gazing(or even travelling) south towards Nashkel might glimpse the strangest of sights...

A man accompanied by a spotted dog could be seen assisting Taerom "Thunderhammer" Fuiruim and his dwarven apprentice about the smithy occasionally at seemingly random days, times, and duration of stay. The three took turns at various tasks while the dog ran about the outside of the fence, slept near the smithy, or pestered a nearby badger. The tone was light, as the man would occasionally speak with the dwarven apprentice offering small bits advice, guidance, or a small demonstration when Taerom was busy.

Another day done as the man found a broom and began sweeping before the smithy grew quiet. He stepped slowly backwards in his motions as he looked over a shoulder briefly at the sleeping dog before looking forward once more.

Word makes its way around Beregost that a prowler lurks on the road south to Nashkel. Fortunately for travelers, rumor also has it he isn't a very good one and was beaten to within an inch of his life after an attempted mugging. Nonetheless, many a merchant caravan has been cautioned.

Word reaches some travelers of a necromancer sighting on the road south to Nashkel, where an altercation between this necromancer and a lone druid took place. The latter made her way north to Beregost, limping and bloodied, but very much alert, telling a tale of a vampire spawn and its master in the crags where wyverns make their nests.

According to the druid, the necromancer, a human female, refused to be rid of the spawn, and thus a fight broke out. Though the necromancer was beaten down, the druid still had to contend with the unnatural weight of a vampire's blade baring down on her; when she, weary and wounded, was finally rid of the beast, the necromancer was nowhere to be seen. Travelers on the road have been cautioned.

The earlier rumors of a necromancer on the road south to Nashkel have been compounded with rumors of a second altercation. A Ruathym axe-man arrived at Beregost with minor sword wounds, claiming to have encountered and vanquished a vampire in the valley where the Wyvern nest.

According to the warrior, after encountering the vampire - armed with the advantage of the earlier reports of a necromancer afoot in the same area - he challenged the unseen mistress to reveal herself. This man tells how a woman answered him in a foreign tongue he did not understand, and he could not lay eyes on her. The vampire was destroyed by his hand, but the speaker evaded him completely. Travelers on the road have been doubly cautioned.

The necromancer is spotted entering the xvart village with a trail of dead following behind her. She seems to have one living among her followers, though nobody gets a good look at the mans face. The necromancer challenges any before her that would question her right to use the undead, claiming death is merely part of the cycle -- threatening to quicken their part in it.

Three Northerners departed Beregost together and traveled the road South.

As they neared the sandy ruins of Ulcaster, there was a sudden and terrible ambush - the Northern troupe stood back-to-back against half-fiends and a mighty horned devil. They emerged victorious of course, as they lived to retell these things in the local taverns later in the evening time.

South of Beregost...

Mayhem.

While walking north from Nashkel, an elderly looking man in a feathered hat and blue attire paused to peer over the ridgeline as he walked, only to witness a gigantic lion and a twirling mass of air and branches battling for dear life against what appeared to be a red-robed woman, a vampire, and an armored male(possibly an orcblood).

Rumor has it that the wrinkly old fellow descended into the valley shortly thereafter, while clouds of lightning and acid rained down above the pitched battle, and more rumors of one of the five combatants even supposedly taking on the form of a horned devil... although details might be scarce as to which one.

Nevertheless, a stern shout might have been heard, something to the effect of,
"Ye all best stop this foolishness, right now!" ... before the area was bathed in holy magics of numerous types: a flood of positive healing energy, at first, and then several other bright flashes erupted, including what appeared to be a sunbeam arcing downward to piece the ground at a precise location.

Whatever the eventual outcome, the old man would be seen wandering back towards the nearby farm, while chuckling merrily and just shaking his hatted head, before returning to tend to his turnips.

((If any of the involved parties want to visit the old man or farm, I would appreciate it if they do so while he is in game ;) ))

The undead and those that command them could be seen venturing further north from the caves of the cloud peaks that had hidden them, coming as far north as the trade roads between Nashkel and Beregost. They travelled with relatively little contest, meeting only a few who would dare stand in their way.
