Winter Solstice Masquerade and Fashion Gala: Itinerary

The Imitation Game

Invites participating in the Imitation Game are asked to select their favorite personality from the Baldur’s Gate and environs and attempt to impersonate that individual for the course of the evening. Impersonations can include emulating the individual's dress, personality and/or other creative means of impersonation. Impersonations must be tastefully performed and devoid of vulgarities. It is recommended seeking the permission of the individual you wish to impersonate in advance. If you wish to participate in this contest but indecisive on whom you wish to impersonate there is an available list of individuals who have graciously offered up themselves as candidates for ridicule impersonation to select from. The best impersonation will be selected by the guest and the winner will be announced at the conclusion of the Gala and presented a monetary award.

Fashion Contest

Individuals interested in participating in the Fashion Contest are asked to adorn themselves in their most fashionable winter themed attire. Contestants will collectively be invited on stage to shamelessly strut and preen in their attire before the gathered audience. Guest will select the best male and female attire and that esteemed couple will be crowned Mr. and Mrs. Fabulous of the Winter Solstice Gala and each presented with a monetary award.

Open Stage

While a musical troupe will be on hand to provide entertainment throughout the evening we also recognize there is an exceptionally large pool of artistic talent amongst our invited guest. As such the stage will still be open for guest to regale the audience with their own winter themed performance.

A half-orc in fullplate, with a cloak bearing a large symbol of an eye on the back of a gauntlet, walks up to the billboard next to the Elfsong Tavern. There, he rolls out a scroll from his backpack and pins it to the board. It's about the upcoming Winter Gala!
Odd sight for those who spotted the scene, trying to make a relation between a half-orc in armor and a Gala...
The half-orc nods to the poster pinned, then heads out to the Palace District.

Following a few rather busy weeks involving acquisitions from up and down the coast an Eastern waif clad in gold and green leads a horse to the White Mask. Strapped to its harness are many padded boxes and paniers, which she unloads and takes within. The process appears practiced and efficient, and carries with it a bouquet of lingering aromas both sweet and savory.

It seems that the Gala would have no shortage of delectables today.
I play a baker. Sometimes she provides counseling or treatment.
Ask about our Breadflower daily special to save five coppers off a purchase of five pastries.
She seems unusually interested in cursed items.
She has also been seeking a variety of gems and stones.

Phoenix Company would like to extend its gratitude to those invitees who were able to attend the Winter Solstice Masquerade and Fashion Gala. It was a smashing success due to your illustrious presence. Special thanks to Celestia The King of Undermountain, Halaster Blackcoat, for conjuring a shower of snow flurries to create a wintery ambience. A certain hin is also grateful because he was able to construct his own personal fortress from the fallen snow. Also special thanks for our guest entertainers, Bryce Sawyer, Iris, Hymly Finch, Kaisi Autumnweaver , and the duo of Rose and Sirion who managed not to stab each other for once.

Congratulations again to our contest winners: Frin was crowned the victor of the Imitation Game for her portrayal of Batibat Kok-Lir Kasdeya. She agreed to not use the proceeds from her winnings to procure toxins and attempt poison the local water again. Jalib and Lilly Kai were crowned Mr. and Mrs. Fabulous. Lilly Kai requested the proceeds of her winning distributed to charity and Jalib requested the proceeds from his winnings donated towards erecting a grand effigy of himself because of course he did.

Extended special thanks to Lucia, Rose Rivineth, Sirion Te'Dwa, and Kaisi Autumnweaver, for assisting in the planning and execution of the Gala; Sayushi Furuki for her fabulous catering services and House Blackrose for their security services.

Gala Itinerary

Arrival Festival

Guest are greeted with light refreshments, games, and a presentation of gifts for each Gala attendee from a Special Guest fond of distributing presents.

Crowning of Mr. and Mrs. Fabulous

Gala attendees will have the option of selecting (through popular vote*) their choice of a Mr. and Mrs. Fabulous. Candidates are selected from the pool of Gala attendees. Guests are asked to judge their choice of candidate not just by their fabulous wardrobe selection but also on the poise and grace exemplified by the candidate.

The Imitation Game

Upon entry each Gala attendee shall receive an alternative identity to role play during the course of the Gala; each role a flawed or tragic individual in their own right (e.g. Failed Architect, Greedy Philanthropist). These roles do not require costumes, though House Divine can provide accessories if guest wish to further improvise. Towards the close of the Gala guest will vote* on their choice of Best Imitator.

Best of Show

While guests will find themselves regaled through the night by the Dueling Roses they are still nonetheless invited to take the stage and entertain the audience with their own Winter Themed ballad (rather song or poetry) or a stage act. Gala attendees will vote* on their choice of Best of Show from among each of the guest performers.

The Twist

You’ll just have to stay and find out.

* - House Divine members are exempt from voting or receiving votes. Gala attendees cannot vote for themselves.
