Looking for slaves

Unread post by Bath Party »

Shal, an influent looking jaluk in a fabulous hat, has recently arrived to Sshamath. Some time later, a half-drow called Yasrena has joined him, rumored to be his sister. The duo presents themselves with confidence and speaks about more visitors of Mizzraem family to come from the distant and deeper lands.

This cycle, Mizzraems have made their first public claim, a message left on the message board, saying:

We are looking for rivvil slaves with grand urgency and paying generous plak'la for each sample, starting from five bags and up. A slave of darthiri origin is especially valued and will be paid for twicefold. The only thing that matters is their blood, leave the legal procedures to us.

//Hello!

A reminder (just in case) that server rules require this regarding slavery RP:

"Slavery
Slavery is not allowed among PCs. This has in the past led to RP that is outside the PG-13 rating of the server and as such has been banned."

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=45816

Meaning that IC slavery RP is allowed if it is regarding trading or owning NPC slaves (which would require DM permission and a player request to the DM Team forum group to do so), but trading or owning PC slaves by PC slaves is strictly prohibited on this server. If you have any questions on this topic of RP or others, please feel free to PM the DM Team forum group on this as well.

Thanks for your RP!//

The back alleys of Sshamath are filled with idle chatter that a representative from the Skullport Slitters has found their way to the city inquiring about current territorial claims by rival gangs, factions or organizations. Every quipper, gutter-snipe and low born was offered a modest garnish in exchange for information and told that 'The Sshamath Slitter' was offering a sum of anywhere between 200 to 2000 plak'la for valuable information adjusted based upon on the sensitivity of said information and was told to spread the word throughout the city to their peers.

Aspiring Necromancer demands membership in the School of Necromancy

Unread post by EhpicFellure »

A young adult jalil is rumored to have caused a scene in the School of Necromancy by loudly demanding to be given membership to the School of Necromancy. She is heard complaining about how the School is keeping the knowledge of powerful necromantic rituals from Faern seeking to increase their power. Why shouldn't she be given access to powerful necromantic rituals just because she is not a member of the school? After a few minutes of arguing interspersed with lavish compliments, the jalil departs before angering the necromancer too much.

She is spotted later at Glouria's, where she continues to loudly express her dissatisfaction with not being a member of the School of Necromancy and being denied access to the knowledge of powerful necromantic rituals.

The Necromancer is seemingly not bothered by the loud tone and simply responds with "That's not how that works..." to the demands. Growing more and more agitated he slowly and discretely starts reaching low for something but stops as she finally leaves, shaking his head. He motions for a runner to go up stairs and inform the High Necromancer of what happened...

The runner returns a bit later to inform the receptionist that the High Necromancer said she would look into it, but you probably should have just killed her.

About couple of cycle ago, a very unusual group of mercenaries , wizards and treaaure hunters went into the dangerous dwarven ruins of Oghran. It was there, they fought through hordes of undead into the very heart of the temple where they found strange magical artifact. It was taken by one of the wizards for further research.

"Bregan D'aerthe is looking for a faern skilled in the school of evocation for hire. If dos wish more details, contact any Bregan D'aerthe members."

The message is signed by "Grey of Bregan".

A well manicured ebony finger raps against the face of Bregan Daerthe’s request. Looming behind the faern stood a hulking Grey Orc modestly clad in the robes of a monk patiently waiting for his employer to finish his cyclic perusal of the common announcements.

“It appears our colleagues over at the Department of Inteigue have need of our services N’Tey.”

The orc remain stoic and disciplined despite the drow’s optimism.

“I’ll go to their base of operations and wait for a contact-..” . the towering black monk began.

“No need, My legs are feeling a bit spry and we are long overdue for a robust conversation anyhow.”

N’Tey shifted uncomfortably before scanning passerbys before responding, “Desvala will be enflamed if you cancel her massage Ephelm.”

“Ah! How I do lament missing her exquisite company, and to imagine she pays me a small fortune to put my fingers-..”

“Arrest the details faern.” the orc quipped sharply.

Indeed, anyhow, please devise an eloquent missive apologizing to mistress Desvala and lock in an agreeable date to make up for the interuption.”

The fingers of N’Tey gracefully penned notes as his employer spoke.

“And a bouquet of those prismatic toadstools if you will, perhaps that and a 20% discount will sooth the ire.”

“She just wants to spend time with you Ephelm.”

“Xas, don’t they all.” the mage sighed with false exasperation.

For couple of hours Nyphein Zaphrael is seen standing in front of Gloura's looking for both skilled and beginner faerns that would like to try their luck and join the School of Necromancy. Before he left, he nailed a message on the door leading to the tavern.
"To all those who wants to master the arcane and become part of the most esteemed School of Necromancy, we're looking for fresh recruits. If you want to change your life for better and be treated with respect, ask for Nyphein."

Speaking of a particular faern in front of Glorus Wings, a tiefling with a faded brand on his chest wandered past Nyphein and struck up a conversation with his imp.

This in turn lead to a conversion with the faern himself who seemed little interested in the tiefling and his lack of magical ability, until he mentioned he may have a collection of valuable tomes from his former master. A deal was struck with plans to complete their transaction at the school of necromancy.

Among many daily visitors to Sshamat occured to be a strange traveller. A dusty and battered looking drow woman entered Spider Kiss spooking up local residents by her appearence. Her gear functional, but worn out after obvious long journey.

The woman looks aged, and marked by many scars. She spent time walking trough the former temple, displease visible in her remaining eye, as she explored what had become of it. Nevertheless, she pulled hefty bag of coins, to take drink and rest. Appearence of soldier raised temporary speculation if she's just another mercenary, but shield depicting a spider speaks against it.

She did not show any interest in what Spider Kiss offers other than brief rest at the table and a drink. Upon leaving, she left a spinning coin on the bartender counter, telling him to point some remaining clergy to her way.

A new and unusual figure finds herself among the denizens of Sshamath: A young redheaded human going by the name of Dae, she makes no secret of the curious circumstances surrounding her arrival. From the sound of it, she has only a vague idea of where she is or how she got there, and no recollection of her life prior to the moments immediately leading up to her magically-assisted arrival in the tunnels outside the city.

Her recollection of those moments isn't much more informative, though it sounds as if she was rescued from a grim fate as a human sacrifice before jumping through a portal and randomly arriving outside Sshamath. Since then, it's taken the girl a remarkably brief time to improve her fortunes, growing progressively wealthier and better-equipped doing assorted errands for some of the locals.

From the sound of things, the amnesiac human is a fairly decent thief. But what other secrets does she hold, and could it all be a ploy masking something more sinister...? How long will she stay in Sshamath, and will she seek a way to the surface before the vague hostility of the people around her crystallizes into a more clear, lethal danger?

A grey-skinned tiefling with large horns and a tail would have been seen carrying the redhead into the Darkwoods last cycle, her armor badly damaged and bloodied from a large number of smaller attacks. If she were still alive at the time, it wasn't immediately obvious at a distance... though they could later be seen talking in the slums before heading over to the Gloura's Wings.

If she was dead, she has been brought back to life. If she wasn't, she has been brought back from the brink of death. Only they and the healer who helped them could know for sure.

Last cycle, the grey-skinned tiefling was seen carrying the redhead again - in different clothes - into the Gloura's Wings. She was pale and more obviously lifeless than last time, though the corpse bore far fewer signs of damage now. Somehow, later, the duo could be seen wandering out of the Darkwoods and buying a large supply of potions before leaving the city again.

Some time later, they returned to Varalla's Passage yet again, blood trickling both from the human's throat and the side of her head. She seemed disoriented, unsteady on her feet; if the tiefling hadn't been dragging her by the hand the whole time, she may not have had the presence of mind to walk, never mind running towards the caravan and requesting passage to Undrek Naudal.

Shortly after their departure, a hooded male drow, clad in black leathers, inquired about their whereabouts before taking the next caravan there.
