[ THE DAY OF RATIFICATION ]
After a couple of months of effective ceasefire and logistical preparation, the last ratification is deposited in Athkatla. All articles of the Treaty of Beregost enter into force.
-Treaty of Beregost-

The High Contracting Parties, in order to end the destruction of war and the mutual cost born by combatant nations, in order to protect the interests and sovereignty of nations and restore the freedoms of trade and movement enjoyed therein, and by the maintenance of justice and a scrupulous respect for all treaty obligations in the dealings of organised peoples with one another, agree to this Treaty of Peace between Amn and Baldur’s Gate.

Article 1:
The Representative Parties of Amn and Baldur’s Gate agree to and here affirm the permanent cessation of hostilities.

Article 2:
The Council of Amn confirms and the Dukes of Baldur’s Gate accept that the Flaming Fist and Lords’ Alliance Army must dismantle their war camp and withdraw to Baldur’s Gate. From the date of ratification, Flaming Fist Mercenaries shall not venture south of the Lion’s Way, nor Amnian Soldiers north of Beregost.

Article 3:
The Council of Amn confirms and the Dukes of Baldur’s Gate accept that the town of Beregost is named an Amnian protectorate from the date of ratification, to be subject to the defence and foreign policies of the metropolis, and to enjoy the protection and favourable trading relations conferred by this status.

Article 4:
The Dukes of Baldur’s Gate confirm and the Council of Amn accepts that Amn shall bear primary responsibility for the reconstruction of Beregost as its protectorate. The Council of Amn shall appoint a Governor to the town to oversee its administration.

Article 5:
The Council of Amn confirms and the Dukes of Baldur’s Gate accept their share of responsibility for the destruction of Beregost and all the loss and damage suffered by its citizens. Baldur’s Gate shall therefore pay war reparations to the amount of 200,000 gold coins, which shall contribute to the reconstruction of Beregost and Markhold.

Article 1 shall be effective immediately from the date of the representative signatures below. All subsequent articles shall be effective from the date on which ratifications are deposited in Athkatla by the High Contracting Parties.
