ooc: Sshamath / UD 1351 Campaign Thread
Well tried to login for the event at Saturday 16:00 GMT. But the server is impossible to reach. Hope it gets postponed or the attacker gets bored soon.
PS. and the moment I write this, I get in after trying 10 or more times.

I did wonder why not too many on right now. I can only speak for myself as someone who has managed to login, but I am happy/vote for this being postponed if there are folks that can't login.

Wondering the same, as there was no lag at all during the part I was in.
PS. Bah, had it so close, but it seems wasn't fast enough. I think I will take a break as well. Thanks for the different UD rp (compared to surface). Was a blast as long as it lasted. Thanks Theo for the occasion.

Nah, tried a dozen of times but seems impossible. That ooze fight was so enjoying... Anyway, thanks for the event.

IDS looks for recurrent patterns typical of DDoS usage than host application served; ~80 KBps a user instead of the higher counts needed to saturate the wan link.grymhild wrote:I was wondering if ddos protection might have kicked in and blocked ips because of higher traffic from the event -

Might block the same region though if it uses similar paths? I must admit though I don't understand enough to be an expert. Not even an apprentice. And don't want to know it either. Hate this kind of attacks.

Can't get back in (UK).
Thanks Theo for setting this up! Was great fun and created a lot of RP beforehand, so many UD'ers in one place! All having tea and cake and polite conversation (roll bluff)
So again muchas Kudos Theo, I had a lot of fun even though I didn't get to finish

Well I am going to continue to try but in any case, I would encourage anyone interested in doing some smaller events to PM me. If you have a small group already that's good if not I can match some people so just let me know your availability and if you have anything in particular you'd like to do (if you are not sure how to get involved I can help with that as well). I am in touch with a few of the larger guilds but anyone playing in the UD is welcome to PM me their interest.
