In the harbour, after months at the anchor due to the winter and the plague the Whistling Wanderess is being readied, important amounts of fresh food and water are being purchased and loaded in the ship.

A flicker of life emerges from the Fields of the Dead as a Dawnknight and his shadow make their way along the lonely road and into the Farmlands. The blonde man’s brow is pinched in deliberation and the blood on his golden cloak and personage suggest that there had been signs of great battle.

The knight carries a bound and unconscious man over his shoulder; any visible skin showing from the knocked out man has obvious lingering effects of disease. Despite this, the knight carrying him seems to have contracted nothing in its wake.

The paladin departs up the hill with little else than a stare at the Fist and farmers before he disappears.

Two guards are set, one at the door to limit the flow of people to ensure the house does not get flooded. The other guard is set to the handouts to enforce the rations for each and as a deterrent to any bad ideas. People of the docks are employed to help cook and clean with the money raised from the recent tournament. Should crowds begin to form outside sacks of food in storage are distributed out in attempts to diffuse it. Travelers from Beregost and Elturel would notice wagons being led with food supplies to Baldur's Gate.

(( This is not actually a rumor I suppose, more of an RP response to the soup kitchen. However anyone who wants to RP that they noticed the woman watching or build off this RP is free to do so. ))

A small figure in a dark outfit and hood, black and red, watches the soup kitchen quietly from a perch in the shadows on a nearby rooftop, a short bow in hand. Her posture seems relaxed enough, though, and no arrow lay nocked on the string. For hours the tiny woman watches and waits, never moving, never making a sound. Eventually, in the quiet of night, she would crawl across the roof to the far side, descending a wall into the alley below before disappearing into the streets.

As the kitchen comes to its last cauldron of soup, or when the sun begins to set, the guard at the door bellows out they'll be accepting no more patrons, shouting to any who are waiting that they'll have to come back earlier tomorrow. The Head Watchknight herself, in glorious metallic appearance, could be seen ensuring peace is maintained while the kitchen is closed before the night sets in. The employed kitchen helpers from the docks are paid modestly for their assistance before the doors are locked and the empty wagon led towards the Eastern District. The figure in the shadows, for now, gone unnoticed.

Mid morning the following day the wagon returns filled with sacks of supplies of the kitchen. Three guards are set today, two at the entrance, within the doors, the other by the kitchen itself. Posters are setup at the door.

One serving each person, each day.
Eat your ration and be on your way.

Rowdiness, Squabbles and Loitering will not be tolerated inside.
While the Head Watchknight has been trying to not hold religious ties to the soup kitchen it seems as though she purposefully set the symbol of Helm upon the posters as an aposematic warning to any troublemakers. The one ration per day is loosely upheld with regard to children.

From nearby, within the Harbor District, floating through the alleys and over cobblestones, a undulating beat from a taught drum, flows into the facade of the building from which the soup kitchen operates.

The beat of the drum, haunting and carrying an ear worm of doom into the orifices of each guard and worker within the operation—a sense that cannot be closed off, be ignored. Despair combined with a chaos of inability to ignore the drumming, the droning beat...a beat that crashes upon their will like waves slowly eroding the most defiant coastline.

As the undulating beat continues to swirl around the area, it's power seems to affect a particular few of the People—those that would show a particular faith—an inspiration of competence to their own needs to rise above the subjection of class, held in their poverty by greater forces, the Lords and their minions that operate from other Districts.

And those not of faith...they begin to feel the temperature of the air drop, an icy ness claw at their cloaks, temper down their armor to a chill upon their shoulders, as a Winter's Blast defies the spring and shoots a sea-spray of coldness into limb, into soul....

The skies continue to darken over the soup kitchen, the barometer drops as a micro-climate of change surges...and as the drumming continues to echo around the Harbor...many leave the soup kitchen lines and return to their homes...knowing a storm is coming....

*The blind vintner known as Monty Hoffman makes his way to Baldur's Gate leading a mule and cart. The cart is filled with several wooden casks, taps and other accoutrements of his trade. He speaks with Reine Arlynson and Eleanor outside the gate asking after the newly opened soup kitchen. After getting rough directions to the building he continues into the city. Eventually the blind man locates the kitchen and makes a donation of the casks of wine. He also offers to volunteer his time to help serve if needed.*

The iron gauntlet is present, yet its grip is gentle. It seems they are not trying to enforce their will upon the people of the docks, merely trying to ensure the peace of the kitchen is kept. The drummer is definitely an irritative to Sveta's mood, however instead of approaching the man a modest reward is set to any bards of the docks who can drown out his beat within the kitchen.

While her appearance can come off as haughty in her glorious set of armor Sveta takes disputes that rise at first from an (attempting to be) friendly/diplomatic route.

“If you want seconds you're going to have to work for it. Best me in an arm-wrestle and I'll grant your seconds.”

Those who seem like they're there to stir trouble/contentious people are offered far less of a friendly tone, often feeling that iron gauntlet as they are thrown out. A small reputation grows that no one has yet to win seconds against the muscular dame.

Erza shows up at the soup kitchen and hands out clothes to those who need them, although basic they are still stylized and each has the symbol of sune stitched into the inside. these are much like the ones often donated to the temple of ilmater. She also offers to aid the Headwatch knight.

"A little dirty for a good cause i am sure sune will understand"

Like might be expected of the high priestess she makes all those she speaks with feel sunes love, for those who have fallen are often most in need of sunes love.

Loud cracks of thunder and flashes of light come from the sewer grates in the Harbour District. The sudden flashes last nearly a minute. Several hours later, a group of Flaming Fist seal off an abandoned building, more rubble than not, unyielding in their vigilance and discretion.

A monk is seen asking around the city for the way to the Dalelands. He is polite and pleasant. He soon boards a ship and departs from Baldur's Gate.

There is a lack of flowers being handed around the gate of late, as Rumors of the Heartwarder Tegan to have kissed her parents on the cheek as she leaves to head to Waterdeep. Before she departs she heads to the graveyard stopping to see if the Lanthander to be Knight is present before leaving him a note there. She would seem a bit sad that she didn't get to see him before she leaves. The woman with the adorable youthful face looks over her bulky shoulders, saying good bye to her home after being offered a brighter future else ware.
________________________________________________________________________________

On the other side of the docks a woman who is known as Vali pays for her ticket onto a boat into the unknown a mischievous glint in her eyes as her boots clink against the boat's wooden floor boards. "Maybe I could just become a pirate" she says to no one in particular. As the boat takes off she looks over the back of the boat of the place she called home for so long and takes a deep breath.

Just sometimes you need to take a chance and move on, even if it means leaving behind the people you love.

((It has been a pleasure rping with you all. It is time for me to leave! Good luck))

A small, young woman is seen puttering quickly up to the Duchal Palace. She hesitates at the mouth of the massive fortress for a moment before hedging up and delivering a set of missives to one of the Flaming Fist standing watch by the doors.

The missives are wax-sealed with the mark of the Sword Coast Commercial Exchange, and labeled:
To High Hall

For delivery to the Grand Dukes
or the Grand Narlhelm

The soup kitchen is set up once more. This time with some help from a halfling Cal who proved rather skillful with the knife alongside Reine; local Ilmateri offered healing to any sick that arrived to the kitchen with the assistance of a pair of druids; A blind elf who stopped by for a moment before being sent off on tasks by the SoupKnight; And the tall statured Watchknight Ghrimold who proved to hold quite the bouncer face.

The kitchen was abuzz with shouts of commands from the Head Watchknight. It is a wonder how her voice did not grow hoarse over the day, it seems she must have great practice in such a voice. As the hours passed and they were drawn to their last pot of soup only a few more patrons were allowed in as the Ilmateri Ameris put the evening to a close with the following words. Any noises during the priests words were met by a stone cold glare by the Head Watchknight.

Lord on the Rack, cast your gaze on this City of Sails. It is no stranger to storms, and its people do not easily bow before adversity.
But this year has been worse than those before it. There has been a storm which has left no person here untouched. It would be enough to dampen any spirit.
Yet look upon these people, Lord, and upon the fellowship they display; the comfort they take from each other. The burdens lifted by good food and good company.
See how they are unbroken. See how this city Endures, endures because of people like these.
Honour their perseverance Lord Bless them for their defiance of adversity. They, like this city, heal. Give them the strength to do so. Let us remember that united we are stronger, and that together we can create; a thing harder than destruction, but much more rewarding.
And let all here remember that you are there; when the hungry are fed; when a child smiles; when people come together with compassion in their hearts. And when you are there, suffering becomes a thing forgotten, and we may all taste of the ease that Mercy brings.
For even the meekest deserve a life free of fear and suffering. By your Grace Lord, I crave your attention upon these souls.
